Ah, the thing is, I do it pretty much in the same order too - only I start with the first thing, then maybe another and then I'll get into something and end up talking about the last thing you posted etc . So somewhere in there I do a little housekeeping

Hee, I actually love do the word . It sounds so... German . My approach to Germany's games is a bit like "eh, let's see who they're up against and go from there" *g*. The swearing? It lends itself very well to it - hell, if you pronounce things the right way, you'll get even the most innocent things sound like swearing though that can take a bit of practice .

Nice football is always a plus. As long as it's not Barca we're talking about . which is also why I refuse to recognise Puyol - or it might be his horrendous past.. I mean america football? Really ? *shakes head* . Yeah, it's kinda odd how they look all the same.. also: yes. Ramos' needs to get his hair cut.

Aww . Looking for a job is never nice . But yeah, at least there's football now .

Yeah, France... I couldn't even make myself watch all of it.. Put the other match on and left it there for a good bit..

Deal . Who knows - we get the occasional drive-by post and generally speaking there are always more people not taking part in discussions on the net than there are people who do.. but then how many of the stumble on this corner of the net is another matter...

On a last note: I refuse to even think about who's up against whom in the next round - I don't want to get too nervous yet

Ah, I see It is! I love it so much I just had to put it in my sig. It sounds way better than Les Blues or something, you know? La Seleccion sounds cool as well though. I'll leave you to the sounding-like-swearing though

Really? Puyol? American football? Wait, you have to tell me about this. Tell me! Yeah but anyway Barca are a shadow of their former selves so you know. No need to talk about them here

And I did find a job! Well I was looking for a temp job until school starts in August so it wasn't THAT important (not like a proper job post-school) but I did find one! I start on Monday. It screws up my Euro watching but I don't care, I'll just survive on less sleep Besides I did watch all the group stages in peace so that was quite good.

France - that being the France-Italy match? I actually watched all of that I caught the highlights of the Netherlands-Romania match. I didn't watch the Group D matches though, I was falling asleep by 1am so I thought I'd just watch the repeats later. I mean, I would probably have slept through most of the match if I had watched live anyway. So I'm off to do that soon!

And that's true! Well you and I have fun enough here, our little sandbox And oh, I know. I should stop thinking about it as well, but it's hard to do so

-Chemical Wonder-: Oh, I see

Heh, I actually like the wording of les bleus too - though not quite as much .
Yeah, best to leave the sounding like swearing bit to the expert .

True - old stuff that lot (I wish ) *g*. About the American football - I remember some Finnish commentator having mentioned that he played the sport at some point though now that I looked for a mention of it on the net, all I could quickly find was some mention about him supporting some team.. *shrug*.

Congrats about the job!! What are you going to be doing?
And it's only a week or so, so it's doable with only a little sleep, right .

I just couldn't make myself watch all of the France - Italy.. If it's been Spain losing and getting kicked out of the competition, I would've, but since I was having the aforementioned eh kinda feelings about France already... *shrug*.

Yeah, it's a lovely sandbox - with a good good pitch

Well they have been a shadow of the 2006 side so, you know, they're not so important anymore Really? I can't imagine him making touchdowns and stuff like that, somehow OK Les Blues is alright but Nationalmannschaft sounds cooler

Um, data entry and other random admin-y things. It's really a temp job, I'm only doing it for the money! Yeah, but I decided to skip the Germany-Portugal match anyway. Well I intended to watch it live but as I was still awake at 1am, with the match at 2.45am and me needing to be up at 7.15am I decided not to watch it live or fall asleep on the first day (today) Anyway I successfully avoided the score so it was like watching live anyway, plus since the repeat was at a much better timing of 8pm there was hardly any chance of me falling asleep in the match

And I'm so glad I watched the entire thing - did you see it? It was so exciting OK, Portugal had more chances but they didn't actually trouble Lehmann all that much. And Germany! Klose finally scored! And I just really enjoyed the match (although Ballack did push Ferreira (?) for the goal), the Germans looked a lot better than they looked against Croatia or Austria. Thanks for making up for your sending off, Schweinsteiger I think I've mentioned before about how I hated my national newspaper for going on and on about Portugal, right - so not only has Germany won, but Portugal are out as well - HURRAH! Now they'll shut up. Although I bet there'll be some article tomorrow about how "Oh, Portugal are out but let's hope that the proper footballing sides of Holland, Spain, Russia [Russia because they're bandwagon-jumpers] etc will win for the Good of Football" Yes, Greece-like football isn't fun but enough with the fanwankery already. Jesus.

I understand! France = eh. Ribery is fantastic though. And I'm excited about seeing Nasri (if he comes to Arsenal) next season. And I can't help but marvel at Wenger for yet another astute managerial decision to let Henry go last season - £16M may have seemed ridiculously cheap at first but he was an injury-ridden 30 year old so in hindsight it was the right decision. Heh.

Yeah, our little sandbox! It does have a good pitch though *looks at your icon* I'm probably making very little sense in this post, I'm sorry - I'm just happy about Germany. Seriously, after it was over I was skipping around the house singing the tune the stadium people play after a team scores a goal (do you know it?). Incidentally I was really surprised that they were playing 'Seven Nation Army' before the game started - I love that song, but it seems odd in a football stadium

While I'm not that big a fan of Germany's team (I like the country, the fans and the language more than the team *g*), I'm happy about last night's result since you're so happy .

If I remember correctly it was when he was really young - so he switched to football (it was even true ), pretty early on

Naah, Nationalmanschaft sounds good and proper - don't think cool is quite the work I'd use though . I think it's beyond that . It's kinda of a word equivalent of some official state online service's ever so grey looking user interface actually looking really good - if that makes any sense

Ok, I hope the jobä's suitable brain work free . Also, money? Yay . I still haven't quite gotten used to the idea that I have a three week long paid vacation . I wasn't supposed to, since I haven't been at the firm long enough to get enough vacation days, but they have a system for these situations, so it all works out *g*.

That's great that you could avoid the result like that! I've gotta admit I didn't watch it that closely . I was sitting on the floor about a metre and a half from the tv messing with a few oil paint sketches and such . So I basically listened to it and looked up when the speech of the commentators started to sound promising

Eh, I'd love, love, love Russia winning the whole thing, but I've always had a soft spot for them.. the wagon thing.. can't stand that. Holland though. I blame it _all_ on Snejder, but I probably couldn't mind him being on the winnig team . Spain I'd be happy as a clam for, but to be entirely honest, they don't right now quite feel like the one team I'd support over all.. Probably still the Aragones = idiot, no Raul or Guti etc thing there..

Ribery - yeah, he's.. well, actually, I know he's supposed to be all that (and I believe he's great, I've sen glimpses of it), but god dammit, every time I see him play, he has a crappy game or gets injured or the rest of the team sucks so bad they cancel out all the good </rant>

Yeah, and offloading Henry to Barca was good from my point of view too .

Eh, sense making is overrated . As is proper sentence structure .

That's definitely the best feeling - the no, I can't just settle down and be calm - feeling *g*

Err, I can't recall the song right now - I have the crappies music memory.. 'Seven Nation Army' doesn't ring a bell either .. *runs to youtube*.. ah..*light bulb moment*.. that one. No wonder I didn't recognise it - not a White Stripes fan myself.

Thanks darling It's the same with me and Real, I don't like the team much but you do so I'm glad when they win. Did you see the Croatia-Turkey game? I saw the last 15 minutes, all of extra time and the penalties - I felt bad for Croatia. It sounded like they should have won in regulation time but didn't (if only they had Eduardo!). Plus I don't mind them as well. But the last few minutes of extra time, wow. Crazy stuff. And anyway I reckon Germany will have an easier time against Turkey so hey, it's all good...

I don't know about a grey interface but the word just sounds good! Nationalmannschaft. I think it'll be even better if it was in italics, though, the way people do for foreign words - so Nationalmannschaft. Yeah, that looks even better now haha OK then Puyol. He made the right switch

Wait, you have a three week long paid vacation? Why? That's unfair And when are you using those three weeks then, are you going on holiday? The job is ridiculously boring but who cares. Hehe I understand, I was the same for a few matches... but I'm glad I did manage to avoid the score so it was like watching live, only without the waking-up-at-weird-hours. I think I'll be watching it live, properly, for the Netherlands-Russia match though, that looks like a real cracker.

So your main team is Russia? But hey, it's against Holland so that's not so bad... not like being against England or something And I see. Well, if they screw up against Italy - which they just might - then it wouldn't be so bad then, although I really hope not. I don't like Italy.

Really? Aww. Yeah, the times I've seen him it's been somewhat the same as well, but when he isn't injured he does look quite bright (especially compared to the other French players) so that's always nice. And yes, making sense is overrated as long as we make sense to each other I think that's good enough!

Aha. I'm not a fan of the White Stripes either but I really like that song. But I was still surprised to hear it, you always expect some Eurotrash song, you know? Like some song that belongs on Eurovision. So that was nice And yeah, I love that feeling as well. I don't think there's ever a non-football equivalent of the feeling you get when your team wins an important match.

Yeah, I watched most of it and really felt for the Croatians . Still, it was yet another of the matches where I didn't care that much about either team.. Plus I still have that small soft spot for Turkey from 2002 when they beat S. Korea .

- great word, but I'd skip the italics myself and go for some really, really simple and proper typeface .

Heh, I think he could've stayed away from football since he's doing too much for Barca

Yeah . Though it's only a real paid vacation if I stay at the company for five years - if I leave before that, it'll be taken from the vacation days I'd have saved when I quit or if it was when I'd just used the saved vacation days, I'd have to pay them then or something like that. And since I plan to stay happily put there, it's all good *G*. I'm working next week and then it's three weeks off, so three first weeks of July.

I haven't got any trips planned beyond propbably visiting some relatives up in Mikkeli and maybe a day cruise to Tallinn. I was looking at the last minute week long holidays at a few websites, but I'm kinda iffy about those.. There were a few places I certainly wouldn't mind going, but since I have to make sure I have more than enough money for Madrid in the fall... Plus the cheapest ones are moslty beach and too much sun kind of places and I dislike hot weather with a passion . So, in short: who knows *shrug*

The Holland - Russia.. I'm starting to feel like everyone has such huge expectations that it'll bound to be a dissappointment for sure . Granted for me it'll definitely be one, since I wan't Snejder and Russia to win .

I don't know if I could say I have a main team now.. which is kinda sad, since I'm not as invested in the tournament as I would be if I really rooted for someone 110%. But yeah, I'd certainly love it if Russia won the whole thing - even though I certainly don't expect them to. And at the same time I'd much prefer Holland over many of the others.

True - even if it doesn't take much to look brighter than the other French players at the moment

So true - no use using too much sense when less is enough

Yep, eurotrash or some old Bon Jovi kind of stadium rock

Same. OK well no, I definitely prefer Croatia to Turkey but honestly it wasn't a match that really mattered. And why, that's good! This new company sounds a lot better than the old one

Oh, you wouldn't like it here then! Yesterday was ridiculously hot. Today it rained though, so that's nice! Yeah but last-minute vacations tend to be a bit iffy anyway, firstly because it's more expensive than if you booked it months ago and also you don't quite get the satisfaction of looking forward to your trip OK maybe that's just me because I hardly go on holidays, seasoned travellers probably couldn't care less. But your holiday still sounds nice. Are you going on the day cruise with anyone?

Having both Snejider and Russia win, yeah you're doomed to disappointment speaking of which, I haven't seen that yet - again I couldn't stay up! (I'll be watching the repeat later - the whole "avoid the score beforehand" thing seems to be working out quite well!) It's terrible, it gets harder and harder to wake up/stay up for football. And have you realised there are only 4 more matches to Euro '08? It feels really weird.

Exactly - I don't think I've seen quite a sadder-looking bunch of French players And yeah! Oh well, maybe they wanted to be all cool and such.

I'd have maybe like it a little better if Croatia had won too, but.. well, I didn't lose any sleep over it..

Yep and definitely feels better

Eep, I'll stay away then . Heh, actually I was looking at the ones that are ridiculously cheap because they leave in like a week or two or three and are cheap because they haven't been sold out yet - so no to the more expensive, but a definite yes to missing out on the looking forward bit *G*. And I'm far, far from a seasonned traveller, but I couldn't care much - just because it'd be so nice to actually get to travel - I'm just kinda making myself at least try to be patient now that the Madrid trip is actually more of an eventual fact than a slight possibility in the far future .

The day cruice is still a bit up in the air since none of my friends are quite sure what they'll be doing and when, heh. And of course everyone's vacations are at different times - planning things was much easier when every one was still in school!

Yep, was dissappointed and sad for Snejder's and Robben's and even a bit for RVN's sake, but god, how happy were the Russians? Never seen them like that . Now I'm just steeling myself for the eventual loss.. because whoever wins tonight (fingers crossed for Spain, but I have doubts there too..), I can't see Russia getting any further - esp with all the card issues..

And if it is Russia vs Spain.. Yet another win/win and lose/lose match .

Yeah, it feels really weird..

ETA after the Spain - Italy match: Oh. My. God . I really wasn't expecting Spain to actually win that one! Especially once it went to overtime and then even less when it came to pens! I knew Iker could and probably would stop at least one, but I didn't have much faith in the Spaniards ability to keep a coold head and score their pens.. I love being wrong

OK I was stupid and I accidentally found out that Spain won, so I decided to just come here and reply. But unfortunately I saw a bit of what you wrote so I know that it went down to penalties. It’s OK though, I’m still going to watch the match – it seems quite exciting.

Oh, really? I didn’t know. But that makes sense, that they’d lower the price because it hasn’t sold out. But I know! Looking forward to it is half the fun. Aww, same! The last time I went on holiday was quite a few years ago. 4 or 5, I think. But you should save up so that you’ll have more money to spend in Madrid instead! Oh and speaking of Madrid, are you going to visit other parts of Spain/Europe or are you just concentrating on Madrid?

Ah, I see. So what’s going to happen?

I know! Oh, you’ll be pleased to hear this: you know I like Holland, right, but as the match started for some reason I found myself supporting the Russians. I think it’s partly because I really admired the way they destroyed the Swedes, and also because everyone seems to love Holland now and after a while it got a bit So yes, I was rooting for Russia. And they were incredible! The Dutch looked really out of sorts, the defence was all over the place and the midfield and the strikers were too separated from each other, but that’s also because of Russia. Man, they were just irrepressible. That Arshavin is incredible, but I think all of them were really good. They might have a problem with Pavluychenko (or however you spell his name) missing as much as he scores though, and their inability to defend set pieces. But still, they really are quite likeable. But now that it’s Spain-Russia… I don’t know, I guess I’ll just hope for goals (haha).

Errr . What's with the myspace link?

Gwen - Aww, that sucks . But it's definitely worth watching! I have to say I think it was the most heart attack inducing match so far, but the papers are calling it as boring as that 0-0 of France's . Seriously, it was so bad I pretty much had the remote controller in my hand the whole time and I kept switching to MTV2 just because I couldn't watch this and that bit and then like a second later always switched back .

Yeah, I think I'm going to save the money for fall . Mainly because well, Madrid! . And second because like I said, most of the cheap ones are beach holidays and I don't want to just for the sake of travelling..

So far the plan is a week in Madrid - but that'll include a train trip or two to this way or that way from Madrid . I haven't gotten much past this in the planning: 1) the Bernabeu, 2) the Prado and 3) the Reina Sofia .

Dunno yet, might actually go with my dad - we've been talking about maybe going to some other Estonian city for a change, so who knows.. (I usually go once or twice a year to Talling with him for a shopping trip - which in our case means weird cheese, sausages, dried octopus snacks and wine/spirits/cider/beer )

Aww, that's great . The Russians totally won me over too even more - which in turn kinda made me feel worse about not feeling too bad about Snejder, but what could you do with Arshavin and P whose name I won't butcher and everyone else . And okay, so I might have find Semak rather nice to look at too .

As for Spain - Russia.. I guess I'm kinda rooting for Real and Russia .

Spam, it looks like Or maybe she's very desperate to have more friends on MySpace? Who knows!

So anyway I watched it... well I missed the first half because I was out and forgot about the match but I watched the rest of it. Yeah, I don't see how it was the most boring match ever - really? It wasn't that bad, come on... Spain tried, it just wasn't their night. And Italy, well, OK they were negative though! And Toni is quite crap. I feel bad, him and Mario Gomez are the Bundesliga's top scorers and they've flopped in the Euros Anyway. I don't think it was as bad as the Turkey-Croatia match (people forget that apart from the last few minutes it was really boring stuff), the France-Romania one I don't know but surely it wasn't that bad. I do that sometimes, too! Switch around. But I can never stay at the other channel for too long because I want to know what's happening so then I switch back!

Not too much to say about the match itself, hurrah Iker Casillas though! Amazing. And Fabregas as well, cool as anything Did the referee have a horrible match? That's what I heard but to be honest I felt that Villa did dive (for his yellow card), then again I didn't see di Natale's faked injury bit...

Yeah, Madrid! You should save up for that then. And ooh, I see. Well you still have a bit of time to plan, I suppose... although, who are you going with? And ooh, the day trip with your dad sounds fun. Dried octopus snacks though?

Well I'm sure Snejider will survive Yeah, I've really warmed towards these Russians - they all look so rosy-cheeked and cute that you can't help smiling. And they play really well as well, theirs is a team game and well, they're just very likeable underdogs. They're like Greece, only with nicer football. Hee! Oh and it's spelt Pavlyuchenko apparently.

Semak... no idea how he looks like. *looks for him on Google images* ooh, I see. Well I'm not sure if that's him, you know how looking for images are like, you get the weirdest things, but if that's him then he's not bad It's funny, you and I are both girls but we've never - at least to my knowledge - talked about footballers in terms of their looks. I'm sure Dan feels relieved by that. But um, since we're on the subject and all... sometimes if I'm bored I look out for the good looking ones. This time around no one's really stood out but I do like the look of Verdran Corluka. Pity Croatia aren't in it any more.

OK then. I have no idea - I like Spain but Russia are really growing on me. I guess I'll have to see what happens on matchday itself (I've resolved to just wake up for the semis and the final - it's too much of a risk to take, trying to avoid the scores!) When are the semis, by the way?

Yeah...

Tsk tsk . Yeah, some people thought it really boring - I couldn't see how as Spain had so many chances and the Italians certainly enough to give me a fair few heart attacks . Actually, the whole Spain missing thing has me on one hand worried for them and well, on the other.. Russia's chances .

Yeah, I'm always quick to cahnge back too - and quicker to swear profusely at the tv because it's so slow to change back!

Yeah, Casillas... . Eh, I don't think the ref had too awful a match - hell, I can barely remember the guy, so he must have done something right . I do remember the Spaniard's hanging on to shirts far too much .

I'm probably going with some friends from school (poly) - was meaning to go with my best friend, but she has trouble getting time from work and well, frankly put, she's just not that into Madrid . Not that the others are either, but at least in this small bunch I've got a few who are into art too *G*.

Dried squid is delicious!! . Seriously, it's like a salty snack with a taste of the sea, but without fish - so it's brilliant especially since I don't usually eat potatoes either (kinda allergic again), so it's kinda of a potato chip substitute - only better tasting *G*

Yeah, Snejder'll just have to his winnings in a Real shirt . Yeah, and you just don't usually see them smiling so much *g*. Granted they already won the hockey WC and the Eurovision this year, so they have some practice, but they're nothing compared to this, so I couldn't really mind it - even if i can't quite imagine it actually happening..

Heh, of course he's not .

True, and I kinda love that . No offence to the others, but I kinda like having people here who can squee about the players' goals, saves and such instead of what they happend to look like . And of course it doesn't mean we're blind, but a time and place for everything and all that . So on that note: I had to google Corluka and not bad - just not quite to my taste which still run toward those darn balding Frenchmen of Algerian descent . Can't say anyone really made me sit up and take notice so far these games.. except Semak - and that wasn't amybe so much about looks than.. eh, who knows, just something about him

Yeah, these last matches really need tobe watched live .
So tomorrow's Turkey & Germany and then Thursday's the heart attack day with Spain - Russia *bites nails already*
