It really depends on the skater. Someone like Yuzu gets very high GOE on his elements. So some skaters are risking attempting as many quads because it's no longer worth the risk of falling on them. With the calls on under rotations that is definitely hurting skaters like Vincent Zhou. He's getting called on under rotations on lots of his jumps.
Other skating news: this week the European Championships are being held. It's going to be Javi's last competition.  Also this week is the US National Championship.In some sad new former US pairs champion John Coughlin took his own life after being suspended for sexual misconduct allegations. __________________

She was adorable. I just hope the USFS doesn't put too much pressure of her because they wand a young skater that can compete with the young Russian and Japanese skaters.

So the World Championship is next week and there was some major drama with the Russian Federation. They have 3 spots and for the final spot they sent Evgenia Medvedeva over Elizaveta Tuktamysheva. Elizabeta had a much better season she won Skate Canada, got 3rd in NHHK trophy and finished 3rd in the Grand Prix final. While Evgenia came in 3rd at Skate Canada and 4th at Grand Prix of France and didn't qualify for the Grand Prix final. Elizaveta can sick and missed nationals while Evgenia finished 7th at nationals. Both of them didn't attend Europeans. In the Russian Cup final Evgenia won while Elizaveta came in 2nd. Russia's decision was a surprise to many people. I will be rooting for Evgenia to bounce back and have a great skate at worlds.
