So the skating season is starting up again.. it's time for a new thread!

I've already been to two skating shows this season, with another one coming up next week!

I saw The Stars Come Out To Shine in Kitchener and Dreams on Ice in Windsor.. and soon is Kurt's Gotta Skate in Hamilton. [img]smilies/smile.gif[/img] Such a blast!

I've put pictures up fromt the shows on the message board of www.meno-sand.net [img]smilies/wink.gif[/img]

Anyways.. the season's been off to a great start for me and I'm looking forward to the start of SOI and for the grand prix to get underway [not that I'll be able to watch any of it!].

So where are all the figure skating fans? [img]smilies/biggrin.gif[/img]

I'm here Erica!!! I have also been to two skating shows this season already. Miracles of Gold Ice Revue in August and Dreams on Ice (with Erica) a couple weeks ago. I am also going to Kurt's Gotta Skate this coming Saturday (once again with Erica) and I'm SUPER excited!!!!

I can't wait for all the competitions to start popping up on television! I want Anabelle Langlois and Patrice Archetto to kick some major booty this season!!! I love them [img]smilies/smile.gif[/img]

I can't wait for more televised competitions as well, and I'm hoping to see a LOT of Alexei Yagudin this year - I hope his hip injury won't stop him...

I'm just preferential, so I'm waiting for Alexei and Michelle to dominate again. Alexei is AMAZING (gotta love the footwork!) and Michelle is just a magnificent skater. [img]smilies/smile.gif[/img]

Alexei is still listed for his Grand Prix events, but in one of his latest interviews, he mentioned that he was going to focus on SOI and shows again this season. Regardless of whether he competes or not, I'm just happy to see him out there skating! There was a show at his local rink in Simsbury, CT. last weekend, and he skated two new programs - one to an instrumental version of "Feelings" and the other to "Memorial." From the reviews I've read, "Memorial" sounds amazing!

IIRC- I think I read somewhere that Alexei pulled out of GP. I'd look up a news source for you on that one, but I'm procrastinating enough as it is! [img]smilies/smile.gif[/img]

Kurt's Gotta Skate was beyond AWESOME!!! *waves to Chele* [I still can't believe we both joined this board around the same time waaaay back in the day... like 4.5 years ago! *cue the 'It's a small world'*]

Anywho... can't wait to get pictures back tomorrow! I hope they're OK! Tried some different stuff this time around.. will either make the pictures better or worse.. lol [img]smilies/smile.gif[/img] Hopefully it's the better!

Read on another board that Alexei notified the Russian Federation that he will be turning professional. There is supposed to be an official announcement around November 1st. Can't say it's surprising, though. [img]smilies/frown.gif[/img]

Glad you had a good time at Kurt's show, Erica! I'm looking forward to seeing it on TV.

Yeah, Alexei has gone pro... I'm not all that surprised either. I hope he's happy about the decision, though... I know he was having a bit of a tough time adjusting to tour life last year.

And thanks! Going to shows is always a blast. Now I'm looking forward to the opening night of Stars On Ice in Lake Placid. Now just to figure out how on earth I can afford to get myself down there!! I definitely wish I was heading over to Skate Canada this week... it's really close to me, but I just can't afford to go. Boo.

ERICA!!!! How's the talking to yourself going? LOL

I've been completely enthralled with the Skate Canada competition this week and I won't even get to see any of it on tv until next week! Yay for Rinkside and people getting programs online!

Anabelle and Patrice's short program is AMAZING!!! Love the footwork...can definitely put some ice dancers to shame [img]smilies/wink.gif[/img]

Yes, Bella and Patch's SP was the most amazing skate of the week, right beside Jeff's LP!!!!

They'll definitely show it.. it was the skate of the NIGHT! For serious. It was a rather blah night of skating and he just stepped it up!

Someone has the Anabelle/Patrice exhibition from today on Rinkside and I'm trying to download it but to no avail. I had it about 75% done and it disconnected on me and now there are no available slots. GRR!!! I really enjoyed that program (Patrice in pleather pants = good thing by my count) and I want to see it again [img]smilies/smile.gif[/img]
