FF NBA Fantasy League - The Draft Has Begun!!!

Check the title, if we want get a league goin, and if were going to draft, we need to get this started.

If we use yahoo as our host, anyone already in the fantasy football league wont have to sign up for another service. you can use the same yahoo id.

The only thing really to discuss is the scoring system, and last years system was pretty simple, though if were going to use a host then we wont have to worry abut keeping it simple.

Alright, ive opened this up, how bout we hear a few more opinions.

I’m ready to defend my title.

Let’s see how much interest we’re able to draw before we decide on the scoring system, but I like the idea of doing this through Yahoo!

And depending on the range of people who join, I think we'll probably have to do another draft at this board. As long as we get to pick our own players (no auto-draft crap), I'm all for it.

I'm in. Scoring i think should include all stats, including negatives for turnovers, with bonuses for Triple and quarduple doubles. DD's are too common.

I'd like 5 starters and 1 reserve as a regular lineup. Minimum, but i'm fairly open to suggestions.

A Yahoo league sounds good and would be more convenient since no one would have to do the scoring. But like always, drafting teams is going to be a bitch.

If the Yahoo league doesn't work out, we could always go with a league over on SportingNews.com. I created a new division and it's basically the same deal as the baseball league we played in this year (ie. salary cap, 2 trades per week, 6 players, etc.). If anyone is interested in joining, just go here and sign up:
http://fantasygames.sportingnews.com...sic/login.html

The division is called: FF Fanatics
Password is: raptors

I'd still be interested in a Yahoo league, but we'd probably need a few more players to keep it interesting. Although, a four person league wouldn't be too bad. We'd all have All-Star teams, unless Chris decides to draft all his "Cincy scrubs" again.

ETA: The league is 3 teams per person. That way we can tinker with different drafting strategies. Also, if one of your team sucks ass you'll still have two other teams.

I just found the rules for a Yahoo NBA league:
http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/hoops/hooprules/

There are three ways the league can be set up:

Quote:
In a Rotisserie League, fantasy teams are ranked from first to last in each of several statistical categories. Points are then awarded according to the order of finish in each category and are totaled to determine an overall score and place.

In a fantasy point league (available only to Custom Leagues), points are awarded based on how well your players perform in each of several statistical categories. All real-life statistics have associated point values, and each player's points are summed to produce your daily total.

In a Head-to-Head League, your team will square off in a weekly matchup against another manager's to see who can compile the best stats across a number of different categories.
A head-to-head Yahoo league would be nice, since the SportingNews league is a points league. Either way I'm interested.

Ya'll just bitter cuz the Greatest of All-time is a Bearcat. Barnone.

I'd like to draft, overlapping, as Shao said in his email, pisses me off We can draft like 6 players, then first come first serve the rest of your bench.

Head-to-head i like, if we get enough people.

Okay, I’m all signed up.

The Jordanaires are ready to kick some butt!

So, are we going to do a live draft or one at this board? We better decide on this soon since doing a draft at this board could potentially take a long time (re: NFL fantasy game), and the regular season begins in a few weeks.

We would all have to meet at a Yahoo! chatroom at the same time and do our selections. This is difficult to do with all of us living in different time zones. That is why it's probably best to do the draft at this board.
