The Disappearance of Patrick Dennehy

Everyone is caught up in the Kobe Bryant story, but I think the Patrick Dennehy-Carlton Dotson case is a lot more intriguing.

I was pretty convinced that they got into an argument and Dotson shot him and dumped the body. But the more I hear, I think it's possible that Dennehy may actually still be alive.

His family and friends are convinced he's still alive. his girlfriend knows a lot but is not revealing much to the press except that she believes he's still alive. There are a lot of indications that the two were being threatened and were scared for their lives in the weeks leading up to the disappearance. It's possible that Dennehy may be in hiding. They have been searching for 5 or 6 weeks for his body and found nothing. And there is no trace of his blood or anything. Dotson supposedly confessed, but that story is being refuted as well.

This is a crazy story. I thought the Bison Dele thing last summer was weird, but this may top it. It would be a great thing if they do find him alive somewhere.

They think he may still be alive?? Woah. That would be a shocker.

BTW, whatever happened in that Dele case? That was one of the more bizarre cases in recent memory.

People now believe that Dennehy might be alive? Wow! This story has so many loopholes. It’s crazy! Not enough information has been released about who reportedly threatened Dotson and why they would do it. One of Dennehy’s friends has provided a little background of what he knows, but it’s just all too sketchy. Personally, I think Dotson has incriminated himself with his words and actions. I’d be surprised to find out that he didn’t kill his roommate and that Dennehy is hiding out somewhere.

As for the Bison Dele case, I don’t think investigators ever found his body (it’s believed that it was probably eaten by sharks. Yikes!!) but they concluded that his brother committed the murder and threw the bodies overboard in the Caribbean. He then later killed himself. Yep, definitely bizarre!

Can someone explain to me about the disappearance? And who was Dotson? If anyone could help that would be great!

Linking you to an article is probably the best bet. But to sum things up, Patrick Dennehy and Carlton Dotson were players on Baylor’s men’s basketball team this past year. Dennehy has been missing since the middle of June. His SUV was found abandoned in Maryland earlier this month (near Dotson’s home). According to one of Dennehy’s friends, some undisclosed threats had been made against Dotson recently and Dennehy said that he “had to protect him” because they are friends. No one really knows what that really meant. Anyway, Dotson has been a suspect in this investigation ever since Dennehy was reported missing. It was not until last week that he was the prime suspect, as he called the FBI saying that he “needed help.” Supposedly, he made some rather incriminating statements to the authorities, but then later told a reporter that he was coaxed into saying stuff. Anyway, it’s been reported that Dotson gave the police three possible locations as to where Dennehy’s body might be located, and nothing has yet to show up. That’s where things stand right now.

Baylor’s men’s basketball program is in a lot of hot water right now. It’s been reported that Coach Bliss asked Dennehy to waive his scholarship this season so they could recruit another player. Dennehy’s mother and father have said that they didn’t provide him with any $ for tuition. So it’s believed that the coach was breaking NCAA rules by giving Dennehy money to pay for school. Not only that, but it’s also been suspected that the coaching staff financed Dennehy’s SUV, as his two (possibly more) girlfriends have stated that Dennehy alluded to his coaches “rewarding him.” This story just continues to get more crazy by the minute.

Yeah, it is sad.

I just wonder why the police didn’t search that area a few weeks ago, when someone found a bloodied high-top shoe that had “Baylor’s men basketball” marked on it. Uh, isn’t that kind of important? You can’t find much better evidence than that.

I’m sure Dennehy’s body will be ID’ed sometime today. It’s kind of hard not to know if it’s him or not. The guy is 6’10” for pete’s sake!

I wonder why Dotson would do that. The word is that Dennehy was threatening to shoot him and maybe he did it in self-defense. I am really intrigued to find out the facts to this case.

Dennehy had two girlfriends? I thought that Jessica La Rosa was his serious girlfriend, she's the one that's going on all the news shows.

Ditto it's very sad to hear that they finally found him dead.

I'm also intrigued by this case, if Dotson claims that he shot Dennehy in self-defense, how come he didn't come forward earlier instead of letting all this time pass?

Kathie, I agree that the cops should have searched that location earlier when they found that shoe of his...then again maybe there not the brightest of cops down there.

That's what a reporter close to this case said on a local broadcast a few days ago. I was surprised to hear that news myself. I was only aware of Jessica De La Rosa, too. Dennehy apparently was dating another girl from New Mexico who recently moved to Texas. She's been quoted on record as saying that she didn't provide any funds for Dennehy's tuition or SUV. She didn't provide as much info. about Dennehy's whereabouts and his friendship with Carlton Dotson, though.
