Die-Hard Cub and Red Sox Fans, Curse or Collaspe?

Hello!!

Well...I like any other Cub fan in the world was shattered by the events of those that took place last Tuesday night with 5 outs left in the 8th inning. So many things with wrong and downhill from there. The Red Sox also happened to have a three run lead in the 8th innings with 5 outs left and lost is.....Coincedence or Curse!!! I honestly didn't believe in any curses(come on like trading Babe Ruth, and not letting the Billy Goat in makes a difference) until it happened to the Red Sox last night. Feel free to discuss your own opinions dealing with this matter.

I think this topic may fall under the MLB regular discussion thread, but for now, I'll keep it open and see where it goes.

I think the curse is real.

But if we had a different manager we definitely would've won, but maybe it's because of the curse that we have a dumbass manager in the first place.

Well Baker got us this far and well I hate to say it there is no logical explanation to what happened to the Cubs.

Well I think it might be like the SI cover curse, I dont think its a actual curse, but I think the players and stuff might think about it...so they might be a little off in their batting and stuff..It might throw them off.

Grady Little? Cant really blame the curse on that one.

Well, I kinda agree with Super about it might having to do with a mental state.

I believe the word "Curse" is a strong one and it implies suggestion on ones part to make it real completly. I mean, ***** happens. I know it's been crazy the way both teams just keep falling apart and I feel so bad for their fans, it's just not fair.

But. The players have to move on, if not, they'll have no motivation. There is the need to find a good motivation, please the fans, give this to them, stop trying to beat the other team, try to win... There is a difference between the two.

Anaheim did it. There's no reason why the Cubs/Sox can't follow lead. Maybe next year. No pun intended.

Yeah, the Angels hadn't done ***** for 41 years before they won their first title. It gives me hope for my G-Men.

'Course the fact that they won it at the hands of the Giants...isn't exactly encouraging...but you just gotta keep believing. Haaaa, ahhhh...:/

<--Boston fan.

I don't honestly believe in the curse, but it is highly convenient for me to blame everything on it. Unless there's somebody stupid who actually is responsible for a loss, like Grady Little.

I don't believe in curses, but I do believe in the power of suggestion. That's why Dusty is so important. He came here with a new attitude and mentality, and he's going to need to push that even more next year, after what happened this year.

I don’t really believe in curses, either. It’s just nonsense to help explain, or justify, ineptitude.

With the Cubs, I definitely believe the pressure of not having won a WS title in 95 years has become overly magnified to the point where it becomes a huge distraction. I kind of sensed that during this year’s playoff run. But, that’s not the reason why the Cubs lost. I’d blame their abysmal history on a number of things: bad contracts, poor execution, questionable management, and simply a lack of luck.

As for the BoSox, they are far from being cursed. At least they have made it to the World Series a number of times in recent history. Poor pitching screwed them over in ’86, not Bill Buckner. I understand the heartbreak Red Sox fans have endured, but it pales in comparison to the “curse of losing” that has plagued both MLB teams in this city.

i don't believe in them curse, i say bring back the great babino and let me face him, i'll probably drill him in the ass - Pedro

You know, i think the Cubs were waiting for something to happen, like they knew they weren't going to win.

Sox, i think are always trying to top the Yankmes and are always going to be just a tiny bit behind.
