Do I read that player as Totti?

This guy is so big-headed, and my little soft-spot for him is diminishing. But I cannot deny he has great skills for he has shown them for the past few Italy matches I've seen this season.

Unless, of course, your talking pitching, in which case it's spelled Satchel Paige.</STRONG>
Yea okay buddy.

I would put Ted Williams 5th on my list of all time greats. The 'Splendid Splinter' was a great ball player but ya know he was soooooo not the greatest of all time. As for Paige, "the best and fastest pitcher I've ever faced." - Joe DiMaggio. Word Joe, Word

10 - Christy Mathewson
9 - Paul O'Neil (Don't laugh)
8 - Joe Jackson
7 - Stan Musial
6 - Barry Bonds
5 - Ted Williams
4 - Lou Gehrig
3 - Satchel Paige (I agree, great pitcher)
2 - Joe DiMaggio
1 - Babe Ruth

That is my list. Top ten all round Basball players.

Had/have a crush?

Soul of the Game was a great movie, i highly recommend it for anyone interested in baseball and/or history.

I HATE THE KNICKS, especially John Starks, but he was fun to watch. Either he'd single handedly kill ya, or in the case of game 7 vs Houston, hsi own team

Come on now, you can't put Josh ovre Satch. Ya can't. Though i'd pit Josh over ANY living or dead ball player in a homerun contest, Satchel PAige is still the pimp daddy of pitching.

What the hell is wrong with the Knicks?? Maybe I shouldn't ask I can already see the reply to this.

I get so much slack for the teams I suport. I can't helped being raised to love and support them. Yankees, Knicks, and I am not even gonna tell ya'll my football team. I also have a love for the White Sox - Only coz my Grandfather used to watch all there games.

Glad to see Babe Ruth at number one on someone elses list

Do you have time?

Chris, I knew we had one thing in common regarding sports. You *hate* the Knicks, too. Yay!

I don't like baseball at all, so I have no list.

Yes, I can. Just did. Seriously, it’s very difficult to rank pitchers in this type of list. It’s hard to quantify their value next to everyday players. Babe Ruth takes top honors not only because he was a hitting god, but also because he was a hell of a pitcher. In his prime, he could do it all. You can’t say that about too many players. If you will notice, Cy Young is the only pitcher that I ranked for the reasons noted above. However, if I was to rank solely pitchers, Paige would either come in second or third (I’m undecided between him and Matthewson) behind Young.

Btw, count me in as a Knicks hater. I don’t hate them as much as I used to during the classic 90’s Bulls-Knicks rivalry, but I still love to see them lose.

I've liked players, Sprewell and i've been a fan of Marbury and i love McDyess and Mutombo, just never a Knicks fan. I never liked any "hometown" teams, the Knicks being home state.

I must say, i had a bit of love fo rJim Kelly, I hated the Buffalo Bills with a passion, but he's a Hurricane so i always blamed their superbowl loses on other things

When all is said and done, you think Pedro Martinez will rank among the game's best pitchers? Wow! I definitely think he has the stuff to do it, but not the longevity. He's too injury-prone. But if we're just talking about stuff, Pedro and Randy Johnson rank among the best.

My top-5 pitchers:

1. Cy Young
2. Saitchel Paige
3. Christy Matthewson
4. Bob Gibson
5. Sandy Koufax

Stuff, definately. I know Mr Young has some stupid stats, that is partially why I have Pete ranked so high. 300+ K's in each league, Cy Young award in each league, and all of being 5'10" and like 145lbs.

ALSO RECEIVING VOTES
I really like/hate Greg Maddux. And Potential, Doc Gooden had it. Sick, sick man in his day.

Tell me about it! Had he laid off the coke (like Strawberry), Doc would have probably had a HOF career. He had the stuff to be one of the game's greats. Just filthy! It's sad what his addiction did to him.

Doc and Darryl were Kings of NY. Pure Pimps. Give two 20 year olds the key to the world with no one to look out for them and it'll be over real fast.
