College Basketball Thread #2: Because It Is Time For March Madness!
Continue on.
Half the Women's Final Four is set, with Louisville(beating Maryland in Raleigh) and Stanford(beating Iowa State; Jayne Appel scored 46 points, a school record and 3rd most in tournament history, two days after Maryland's Marissa Coleman dropped 42 on Vanderbilt) advancing to St. Louis. UConn plays Arizona State in Trenton, and Oklahoma plays Purdue in Oklahoma City tomorrow. __________________

Michigan State beat UConn 82-73 and right now, UNC's leading Villanova at the half.
Tomorrow night, it will be Louisville vs. Oklahoma and UConn vs. Stanford in the Women's Final Four. __________________

How crazy is it that it's a MSU-UNC rematch in the same place they played in December?
Yay, Carolina! And I was rooting for MSU because I flove Tom Izzo. __________________

I love college basketball and I love the NCAA tournament, but this one has been just about the most unappealing one in recent memory. From the lack of upsets to competitive games being far and few (including both games on Saturday) to even the way they've made everything so generic with these courts, it's just been one big.....blah. Even the impact of Michigan State being in the Final 4 was lessened by the way the court was laid out in Ford Field. Hopefully we get a great championship game to at least go out on a good note.

True. There hasn't been any real "Cinderella" teams that has surprised the hell out of me.
But, yaaaay! Tar Heels! My grandfather and I are THRILLED. __________________

Louisville beat Oklahoma in the first semifinal 61-59.
One of the storylines of the women's tournament was that Courtney Paris of Oklahoma guaranteed a national title or she'd pay back her entire tuition. While OU said that they won't hold her to it, Paris said after the loss that she'd still do it. __________________
