I'm so sad that Meaghan and Roseline finished 7th at the Synchronised 10 m Platform.

They first seemed poised to battle for a bronze medal but then they mucked up their 4th dive. Oh well, it's their first Olympics so I'm sure they'll have a chance to redeem themselves in 2012.

Alexandre and Arturo will compete tomorrow in the Synchronised 3m Springboard final. Let's wish them all the luck in the world.

Alexandre finished 5th with his teamate on the 3m synchro. He knew they had made mistakes and he said he will do better when he dives solo next monday. I wish him the best! I was really hoping for a Canada medal with Alexandre this morning.

All right, so Alexandre is 9th after the Preliminaries. He's that low in the standings because he mucked up his 3rd dive.

The good news though: he gets a clean slate in the semi-finals as far as cumulative marks are concerned.

I hope his focus gets better in the semi-finals.

I saw an interview with him and he said that the mistakes he made are not usual mistakes for him so he should do fine for the semi-finals and final. He said he was feeling OK and confident in the preliminaries. His third dive really set him back falling to the 21st position.

All the better if the other divers think he's off his game, in my opinion.

I think it says it all, though, that he went from 21st place to 10th place on one dive. His third dive seemed like a bit more of a mental lapse than anything, so I'm not really worried.

2nd after the semi-finals.

I can only wish him the best focus ever for the finals tonight. Those Chinese aren't as unbeatable as they seem and if there's one person who can beat them, it's Alexandre.

I'm still raising an eyebrow at He Chong having a 102.6 pt. final dive, but... ech, I guess it's to be expected? Alexandre had a pretty weak second dive, though, so I guess we'll see in the final.

...And when I say weak, I mean for him. Don't ask me if I could do that because I'd totally hit my head on the board before I even tried to jump off. I'm a klutz like that.
