Womens hockey needs to be careful or it'll be gone from the Olympic lineup like Womens softball in the summer games due to too few powerhouses and a bunch of weak teams.

Don't feel too bad for the Slovaks. In 2008, they beat Bulgaria 82-0.

Doesn't help that Canada and the US runs up the score, though...

They have to score as many goals as they can..I remember back in '02 or '06 people made a fuss over them running up the score..and the players said they had to, because goals for determined last ice change in things like the finals.

Woo for Groves winning bronze! And we've got 4 Canadian men in the finals of the moguls tonight

I think that if they didnt run up the score, the other teams wouldnt be happy. I mean, they're there to play in the Olympics against the best...they wouldnt expect Canada or the US the bring anything BUT their best to the game.

I wonder if the pressure that was put on the Canadians athletes may not backfire in the end. Canada want to be number one, want to take something like 30 medals, etc. All we hear about from the athletes is how they want to come out on top and make Canada proud... I don't know how it will turn out for them. I hope the best for Canada as I am a Canadian but at the same time, I can feel the pressure for the Canadian athletes.

I hope Charles Hamelin gets another chance for a medal. I don't think the 1500 is his best race. It was another intense race. His girlfriend did very good for a first time Olympian. She got through the qualification for the relay with the Canadian team and the 500m.
I'm from Toronto and I agree about the pressure/obsession about winning a gold medal on Canadian soil getting to the athletes.

Jen seemed excited about winning any medal and I hope all of the other Canadian athletes can follow that example as well.

Okay well we just won a gold medal in men's mogul

Team USA beat China 12-1 today.

It's like I say about American football games(like the Patriots' 59-0 beatdown of the Titans this past season): Stop them from scoring if you don't want them to score more than 10 goals on you.

Team USA's Johnny Spillane won the silver in the Nordic combined today, the first American to ever win a medal in that event, leaving only the biathlon that an American never medaled in(though, they're close as an American finished 9th today, the best finish ever for an American).

Canada finally won a gold medal on home soil with Alexandre Bilodeau winning the men's moguls.

Bryon Wilson of Team USA won the bronze, giving the USA 6 medals so far.

France has the most gold right now with 2.

This is a country with fewer than 200 registered female players. Beating them by 11, and then saying that it's their fault for not being better, is somewhat naïve.
