It took me a second viewing of the promo to notice that Bellamy was talking to Madi!

In 5x03, Bellamy promised Madi he wouldn’t let anything happen to Clarke. In 5x08, he promised Clarke he’d take care of Madi.

I did, but I didn’t look too closely because they were in the bloody arena, right? I didn’t want to see too much of that because I didn’t want to know too much about the sets.

I hope he's giving her fatherly advice he won't want her ending up like his sister.

I think with Madi becoming Octavia's second and her being so fond of Octavia they may worry about her following O's dark path and Bellamy may see Madi as a second chance to do things right, to be a role model to Madi and to guide her.

Good point, Becks. It's definitely his second "chance" of sorts, and I'm guessing that he'll see a bit of Octavia in her as well.

And the sad thing is, I don’t think Bellamy necessarily did anything wrong with Octavia. But yeah, he may look at Madi and see a chance to right things and help someone who reminds him of his sister. Although I think Madi will be able to help him, too. (Like, she could tell him about Clarke and the damn radio for starters!)

Honestly, he did the best that he could under the circumstances. It's not his fault if Octavia chooses another path for herself.

With Madi though, given his fondness of kids in general and the fact that she's important to Clarke (who is important to him), I do think that he will ultimately bond with her - with or without the Octavia "reminder".
