It doesn't really sound like a Grounder name though, hmm. So I figured that maybe Clarke gave her a name similar to her birth name but IDK.

It definitely doesn’t sound like a Grounder name, but I always figured Madi would have been too old to be renamed.

Hopefully, Jason clarifies it someday. He does seem to be a fan of creating confusion over new character names in general.
