So what is their story in the show?

They're best friends, one is a lesbian, one is straight and in a relationship, but is starting to fall for her best friend and is all confused and in a lot pain. Rana's storyline is basically her coming to terms with her sexuality and her feelings for Kate. She's also a Muslim so that plays a big part in it too, it's really great seeing her character tell a story of the struggle the LGBT + Asian community go through when faced with this. Basically we're finally getting the interracial lesbian ship we all deserve

Oh, that does sound like a really worthwhile story.

Now, it's a soap opera, though, right? So do you think they'll actually keep them together? Nobody in soap opera world ever stays together, it seems.

I can’t either, April. WatcheD The pilot at the pushing of a friend, I didn’t like it. And I feel like the CW should’ve just made another show. That’s not my Archie.

I'm sure the cast is great and there are some cool things about it, but I've actually grown to resent it because of how much The CW is promoting it when they barely promote The 100 (which I think is by far their best, most thought-provoking show).

But that's just me being bitter.

There's a lot I don't like about the show tbh, they could have done so many ground breaking things with the show, e.g... proper ACE representation, making Beronica canon, creating the queer interracial ship we all deserve, not making Archie a fck boy, but they decided to go down the easy path creating two very generic couples and giving hardly any screen time to POC characters and using the only LGBT character as comic relief, plus I can't stand Bughead ()

But I'm sticking with it and hoping season 2 is better, I know Betty/Veronica is never gonna happen so I'm sticking with Barchie and hoping they eventually get endgame!

The CW is trying to make Riverdale happen. It’s a little funny and desperate tbh. I think the network thought they had a runaway hit until those fail ratings hit. I also think it was renewed to save face.
