Okay, so this is really bugging me. People on Twitter wanting Echo to die in S6, I understand Bellarke fans wanting a Becho break up and I understand Bellarke fans not liking Echo and I even understand them not caring if Echo dies, why would you care if a character you don't like dies, right??

here is where my issue lies, Echo death = a sad grieving, heartbroken Bellamy. How does that benefit Bellarke? All that means is Bellamy could lean on Clarke and have grief sex with Clarke if they chose to go in that direction and frankly Bellarke deserve a better sex scene than that.

And honestly if Bellarke got together after Echo dying that would ruin Bellarke, Bellamy and Clarke for me. And don't even get me started on people wanting them to cheat, I would HATE them doing that, I can't stand cheaters, please don't cheapen Bellarke that way

For me, it has to go down this way: Echo steps aside because she knows deep down Bellamy and Clarke are soulmates. THAT IS THE ONLY SCENARIO FOR ME.

ANYWAY, that brings me to my questions:

As a Bellamy fan, would Echo's death upset you in regard to BELLAMY and his grief?
As a Clarke fan, did Lexa's death upset you in regard to Clarke and her grief?

Oh, I feel like I’m going to have a really unpopular answer here. But you have to understand that I have NEVER disliked a ship in my entire life more than I dislike Becho. So would her death upset me because Bellamy would grieve? Oh . . . that’s tough. I mean, I’m not going to lie, I would be thrilled to not have that character on screen anymore. I think that I would feel a bit sad for Bellamy, but mostly, I would feel happy for myself, and I know that sounds really selfish, but that’s just the level to which I ship Bellarke and to which I don’t ship Becho. And I have to admit that I would have no problem with Bellarke getting together after her death. But having said all that, I actually would agree that the best scenario would be for Echo to end it because she knows that Bellamy and Clarke are meant to be. And to be honest, I would respect her for it.

Now when it came to Lexa’s death . . . that’s hard for me, too, because it was a ship that . . . I just didn’t understand how they got where they did so quickly. I had trouble following the trajectory of it after the way season 2 ended for them. And I think that’s a valid criticism. But looking back (and comparing that relationship to Becho), I do think that dynamic was fleshed out better, and I do think Lexa was a more well-written character as opposed to Echo. So . . . I guess that, over time, I’ve developed more sympathy over that situation. And I have softened on Lexa as a character a bit.

I’ll tell you what, though, when characters I don’t like die, I usually find myself feeling sorry for the FANS of that character more so than for the other characters. With Lexa, while I didn’t really have any attachment to her, I do remember expressing on the other forum a lot that I felt really bad for the fans of her. And that would be the case with Echo. Even though it would be no secret that I would be glad if she were gone, I would have sympathy for fans like you, Becks. And it’s like when Jasper died, and that REALLY got to me. I still bawl every time I see that scene, and in my opinion, it’s still the saddest death on the show. I remember seeing some people celebrating that he was gone, and that was just really insensitive to me. I think that, how a person feels on the inside doesn’t prohibit them from being sensitive to the feelings of others.

Yeah, that makes sense to me, obviously I love Echo so it's not easy for me knowing that her death will make people happy and sometimes thats hard for me to understand, but what I do is I imagine if Jughead died on Riverdale, and how that would make me feel and honestly I wouldn't care, I would probably be very upset for Betty, but his death wouldn't make me cry, BUT Betty crying over it would probably upset me. And of course the selfish part of me would be thinking of Barchie and how there's now a chance for them but at the same time I would be annoyed that Barchie only got together cause Jughead was out the picture as I would rather Betty chose Archie.

So all in all, a very similar situation, so I can't exactly judge

With Clexa, I know people have issues with pace, and normally I don't like rushed love stories, but with these two I make an exception. I don't think it's too unrealistic, sometimes people fall in love fast and hard, sometimes when you know, you know. I always think of this lyric when I think of Clexa:

Wise men say only fools rush in
But I can't help falling in love with you
Oh shall I stay, would it be a sin
Oh if I can't help falling in love with you

But also, aren't most The 100 ships rushed? Linctavia kissed very quickly, Memori didn't take that long, Zaven also. And Mackson/Briller had no development. And Marper came out of nowhere.

Kabby was the only canon slow burn. Then you have Bellarke and Murven who are very well developed non canon ships, but still come with their flaws.

Yeah, it’s like . . . I don’t WANT to see Bellamy upset, but I have to admit that I’d rather see him upset than see him with Echo. I feel like that makes me a bad Bellamy fan . . . but at the same time, I know it doesn’t. It’s just . . . it all comes down to these guttural feelings (either positive or negative) that we have towards characters and ships.

Yeah, I don’t think the overall pacing of Clexa was bad, as I think love can happen quickly. I just . . . oh, I just wish there had been more holding Lexa accountable for leaving Clarke at Mount Weather? I think I’m just very critical of the writing for her character in season 3, but I really did enjoy what they were doing with her in season 2, and I wish the anti-hero thing had carried over and been a little more consistent.

You know what, though, I really enjoy writing Lexa in fics.

And you’re right, Becks, a lot of 100 ships are rushed. But that’s probably why I ship Bellarke so hard, because the development is just astonishing to me.

From the Bughead perspective, I get it I hate Bughead and Varchie SO MUCH, oh and I hated Captain Swan on OUAT so I know where your head is at.

See, the reason she wasn't held accountable much in S3, (beside Clarke being mad at her for 5 minutes) was because they were planning on killing her off before they could actually develop that arc which SUCKS! I would have loved a Lexa redemption arc where we really see Lexa suffer with the choices she made and to see people call her out on them. I do think it was her deepest regret which was touched upon in S5.

I still love that Lexa didn't want Clarke making the same mistake with Bellamy as she did with her, why isn't this talked about more? I feel that's such a huge thing.
