Elyza had just gotten back from trying to hunt down anything for them to eat. Luckily, she had come across some a few cans of various super preserved food that would be their dinner.

When she walked in the house was completely dark and she tripped slightly over the doorframe. The can rattled in her rucksack as she shut the door behind her and made sure to push a large desk in front of it.

“Alicia?” Elyza called out again as she walked up the stairs slowly.

“Yeah, I’m up here.” Alicia finally called back and as she did Elyza heard something thud above her. “****!” She heard Alicia exclaim.

Elyza took the stairs two at a time and swung open the door to the room Alicia was in and saw the girl in mid-action holding an armful of candles.

Elyza stopped and tried not to laugh as Alicia looked like a child who had been caught doing something bad. She slowly stood up, her hand gripping the candle that had fallen and landed on the hardwood floor.

“What are those?” Elyza asked, clearly knowing what Alicia was holding.

“We need them,” Alicia responded defiantly.

Elyza crossed her arms and smiled, “Do we really?”

Alicia nodded and pouted her arms still filled with candles.

“We started with one and now we have seven. You have no chill.” Elyza laughed and walked over to Alicia.

Alicia threw the candles on the bed next to her and smiled as her girlfriend approached her. “What can I say, when I like something I just go for it.”

She wrapped her arms around Elyza waist and started to kiss her firmly on the lips. Elyza pulled away as Alicia continued to try and kiss her lips. “You’re just trying to distract me from your obsession.”

“The only obsession I have is with you,” Alicia answered smartly and watched the last of Elyza’s resolve crumble.

She picked up Alicia and walked them over to the side of the bed not covered in candles.

“And I always wonder how we end up with so many candles.” She grinned, leaning down to capture Alicia’s lips.
