Thanks for the new thread, Em!

So it seems like their might be a new ff ship on the new show, The Bold Type. Or, they're heavily hinting at it. One of the main girls is kind of questioning her sexuality right now. We shall see.

What is the old type

Heda_Khaleesi 07-22-2017 07:17 AM

So this supergirl drama about Jeremy and melissa singing a song that was 'offensive' to supercorp and the lgbt community, just keeps getting funnier.

At first i was like, it was a poor taste joke. Im still like that, but melissa needs better PR. Firstly the sentence

"melissa cant be homophobic, she was on glee"

Is the funniest thing ever. And now her PR team are threatening to sue a 19 year old girl, who write an email to melissa and team saying she was disappointed.

Next time don't throw any thing in the fire.

The song was funny, it was probably in poor taste, but it wasnt offensive. But the stuff that happened after has been gold. I still dont think melissa is homophobic in any way. Just not a supercorp shipper

Hey darren chriss used the "i cant be homophobic, i played a gay character" agrument before.

And here's what you missed on glee

Heda_Khaleesi 07-24-2017 09:40 AM

supercorp is not an LGBT rep on the show. they never were. Sanvers is their LGBT rep. supercorp is only fanon and not canon. i think some people need to get that and not being illusional. with that sad i can still understand part of people who love supercorp and felt like a punch into the face. maybe it was a poor taste of song choice there but i am sure none of the cast members did this to insult anyone. they tried to be funny or something but didn't clearly expect the backlash on them now. it's an unlucky situation for everyone.

So I am not the only one who thinks everyone is overreacting a bit over that SG interview? Jeremy's a nice guy, he's always been a huge supporter of the LGBTQ community. He obviously didn't mean to hurt anyone. He's not JRot. I think this has been taken way out of proportion.

Heda_Khaleesi 07-24-2017 09:48 AM

i don't get the drama too but i want to point out why i get some people are angry. i wanna say i am not a supercorp fan (i only watch Sanvers scenes ans ship them ans also some Alex/Kara sibling scenes), but joking "carelessly" about what fans love (or whom) does have consequences and that may affect some people. and i get that some feel hurt. maybe because the song was really poor performed and sung added to the feeling that some fans felt "disrespected". come on, the song was really bad and had no taste at all. it even seemed like they were drunk :P

kiss the wind 07-24-2017 09:56 AM

I don't watch SG, and really have like... no desire to at this point. I think the Supercorps fans felt like Jeremy was mocking LGBT relationships as if they weren't even a possibility, which obviously wasn't his intention, I don't think.

Now Melissa's apology on the other hand... messy. And Jeremy's was bad, too.

MysteryXX 07-24-2017 09:57 AM

I didn't read their apologies. Is there a link somewhere please?
