But he also knows a majority of the fandom hates him for different reasons (clexa being the biggest). And he's a narcissist I think and as such he hates being dilsiked by many people. So if he brings back lexa he could then pretend he always cared for clexa fans and it was always his plan to have clexa be endgame and be reunited.

Like if I was a narcissist like him it's exaclty what I'd do and say in that situation.
