They claimed season 5 was all to build to season 6, so it needs to be strong and strong enough to repair all the **** they did. If its strong, and then we have to look at their plans for season 7 to see if they stay.

I assume it will be fear season 6b, then twd beyond season 2 which will be it's last and then in fall we'll get twd season 11 and fear season 7 in winter and once those two are done it all ends, besides the rick movies and a daryl and carol spin off mini series which is mostly fan service though.
