Yes that situation is very similar to nashville after connie britton who was the older lead got killed off and hayden should've become the new lead, but instead they made a guy the lead. I read that since trump became president lgbtq and women had again a decline in representation in hollywood. I mean normally it's always said that hollywood people are liberal and anti trump and they tend to celebrate that in public, but tbh I wouldn't be surprised if lots of producers/bosses actually like trump and now use him basically as an excuse to also fall back into misogynist and homophobic patterns.
