Tina, the link I just posted mentioned in it he wanted to keep them around and make the show separate without the crossover. He had plans for it, but it was ignored by the new guys. He had a vision of the show we all talk about but was scrapped by AMC with the changes. We are getting a totally different show, now.

what i liked about FTWD was that it wasn't so ridicilously stupid and boring as TWD, and I could see myseld in the characters. compared to cartoony characters in TWD.

This is why I love zombie shows and movies, people always make homes out of places like jails, hospitals, stadiums and other places you'll never see as a potential base if it wasn't for the apocalypse.

Whilst I initially thought that this would be strange, I now believe it would be an excellent opportunity for world building. For example, have a new group in the hotel, maybe even a new group which has taken over the ranch, there's quite a few potentials here and since the new showrunners are fantasy writers, this might be executed well.
