From the episode titles/descriptions and addition of new people, seeing the trailer I think it will be worse than I thought. Without new people there was a chance we could have seen the old cast get some screen time, development etc but it looks like it'll be glossed over again and we'd be lucky to get 4-5 episodes focusing on the old cast and showing/developing their growth/changes with the new and how things are at the moment.

After seeing the promo for 4B, I was annoyed to only see Alicia and Strand for a couple of shots. It seems like they are going to buddy her up with Charlie (ugh) for some sort of redemption/forgiveness arc there.

Has anyone heard an announcement saying they will renew FTWD for another season? To me it seems like they would have by now. I fully understand that most folks didn't like 4A. So is this the last season?

nothing has been mentioned at all so we don't know anything. i guess we will have to see what happens at the end of this season.

it is weird a fifth season hasn't been mentioned at all.

some people think Fear will become a part of TWD Season 10 and they'll merge the characters. they think that the season 4 finale will feature a bloodbath and the few remaining characters (probably Alicia, Dorie, and Althea) will follow Morgan to Alexandria and join the main show.

Could be the case. The way the main show is going losing their top tier actors they're going to need characters. Plus why would they time jump FEAR to coincide with the time line of TWD if they're not going to merge them? The earlier stages that FEAR was set is a far more interesting time... lets also not forget they've moved Gimple over to FEAR, could be to tie them into the main plot.

No I can't imagine them merging the two Shows. My guess is that they'll do S5 in hopes that people will become resigned to the changes. I don't see them cancelling FTWD if it has halfway decent ratings because it's a two hour time slot to fill (one hour for the show, one hour for Talking Dead) so producing 1-2 new shows to replace it and convincing sponsors to spend their advertising dollars on something unproven would be a financial risk. Same goes for merging them, unless the merged show has 32-episode seasons.
