That's a really good question. Who knows with them, to be honest. Whenever they're asked about the significance of Lexa's candles they blow it off as a budget joke, when some people really do want to know out of interest. I don't know much about how much or how deep in thought they go into cinematically for this show, but what fans make of it and analyse can be very comforting.
