Well I had lederhosen too as a kid, but from austria. But I admit I'm not a fan of octoberfest, it has become such a mass tourist alcohol rush and not really traditional anymore, I'd then prefer spending the evening in a brauhaus.

Clarice you made me laugh you can't know no worries! but we only wear dirndl or lederhosen at special events like the Oktoberfest. it's a traditional clothing. the Octoberfest in Munich is the most renowned event, but any folk festival will be an occasion where it is the right dress.

Yeah though octoberfest has become so trashy in the recent years with all the alcoholics and mass tourism, but maybe there is some smaller similar events in bavaria that are better. But yes most bavarians don't wear this stuff anymore in their daily life. Another example is japanese kimonos, people in japan don't usually wear them anymore unless at some traditional festivals in Kyoto the old royal capitial of japan before Tokyo.

Or it's like cowboy hat and cowboy boots, most people in texas don't wear them either anymore when living in the city.

Unless you're alycia who's neither a bavarian nor a texan, just seems to like their styles I guess and wanted to show of her cowboy boots and also her texas style jacket in that one pic and also loves to wear dirndltops and bavarian style dresses in daily life. But alycia is special I don't know any other asutralians living in LA who wear a mix of bavairan and texan style in their personal life.

I don't know much about that culture but I sure saw a lot of pics and read articles about the legendary Octoberfest. One day I wanna visit it, it's not that for from Paris However, I don't like beer and too many people, so I am not sure if that would be the right place for me. I wonder if Alycia ever visited the Octoberfest when she was in Munich? It's only in October right?

I don't think it's that great, it's mostly a mass tourism festival where everyone drinks till they puke.

Same here lol, it's much nice to go with some friends to a brauhaus (those traditional restaurants and beer houses in munich).
