I honestly have no idea. But they must have recognized this season was the worst - also rating wise.

They may, but probably they want to merge the shows and the best way to do so is to bring the ratings down so much that thery can cancel FTWD. Easiest way to do that is to make it as bad as possible.

Btw is it bad that I actually don't miss seeing her on ftwd at all these days?

AMC and the writers really just don't care about us as their fan-base, even though I bet they're getting nervous with the declining ratings.
