It's just too stressful.
Obligated to spend time with family. Now, I like my family

But everyone seems to expect it to be a chill fun time together and it always turns out it's not.
I just want to be in the middle of nowhere, completely anti-social

I do love Sherlock's relationship with his parents. It's his relationship with Mycroft that needs some repairing but I kind of expect that given they're two highly intellectual people.

I know what you mean. Sometimes (not all the time), it can get stressful at reunions with everyone asking how you are and if you don't live up to their expectations, you're a loser. I have very conservative grandparents who frown at just about everything (gay/lesbians, unmarried women, etc.)
