There might not have been, but I still liked her - I didn't dislike Isobel, though. I DID think Hamish treated Alex badly - he should have told her the truth instead of lying for so long. That's one thing that was so great about the show, that they didn't make Hamish into some perfect person. Bobby ripped my heart out when Hamish found out that Alex had died....wow, that was painful.

I'm glad they chose Hamish to take some wrong paths along the way. Good to mix it up a bit.

Yes Hamish should have been honest, he was frightened to say anything. But yes it makes him more human to be fallible.

His depression after Alex died, was totally believable, his guilt was huge by then.

It was brilliantly handled by the show - and I agree, extremely realistic. I'm kind of in the mood to watch that scene again because Bobby is brilliant.......

It was a shock, but also it didn't happen in the way in the way you'd expect. It was actually more moving because of his love of his brother and refusing to leave him.
