They have to stay true to the character

They've kind of put themselves in a corner hair wise because so far in it would be strange to suddenly start changing it.

I would, tbh. They've established the character in terms of hair to a point where they can't change it without making it a big thing.

Hair isn't something established IMO. Iris had different hairstyles in 3x02, 3x03 and 3x04. It felt natural. So did her changing her hair twice in 3x10.

That's one brief period compared to the whole show, though. I wouldn't mind them changing it up, but they'd need to mention it.
