Heidi is very good at that. Oftentimes I'm trying to talk about something and I'm sorta like "hurr durr what are words" and Heidi gets what I'm trying to say and just expands on it so well.

Elyes did some Q and A stuff on Scorpion's Insta-story yesterday! Some of his answers were pretty cool to hear about.

I need to look for that! I don't normally see the Scorpion account's Insta-Story.

I don't usually, but I pay extra attention on premiere and finale days.

Just watched it. I like that he admits to having some issues keeping his accent from creeping in on certain words.

My grandfather was asked to locate a village pronounced like "Hainesboro" for some military thing many years ago, and he spent looking at a map for almost an hour looking for this so called "Hainesboro," but he couldn't find it. Then, his supervising officer came in to check on him, and my grandpa told him he couldn't find it. The officer looked down at the map and said, "There it is" within seconds after looking at it. My grandfather glanced where the officer's finger was pointed and then looked back at him with wide eyes, saying, "That is not a "Hainsboro"! That is a "Happisburg!" All of the English military men looked at my grandpa like he was the crazy one. You can listen to the pronunciation here. lol |

My dressage trainer in college is British, and the one that always stuck out the most to me was how she would say "moving forwards" instead of "moving forward."

Ah yes, 'aloominum', that one particularly amuses us Brits! We do have some bizarre place names here that even we don't know how to pronounce so I completely understand why people get confused with them.
I am amazed at how easily Elyes switches between his real accent and Walter's accent. It's a real talent. To me, his American accent sounds excellent - obviously you might disagree, but I don't detect any British pronunciation creeping in at all. There's nothing worse than an actor doing a really bad accent (Dick van Dyke! ) it completely takes away from their performance. |

As often as I've seen and heard him speak as himself, it still startles me just bit when I realize Elyes has a British accent. His American is dead on and I've never heard him slip up - ever. It's relatively generic - there isn't a strong regional accent to it, but that's typical of television when the region doesn't play a part in the show. A show like Brooklyn-99 is going to have folks speaking with a Brooklyn accent, but a show set in LA is likely to be accent-free.
The British-ism that confounds me is lieutenant or "lef-tenant". I actually first heard it from my German grandmother when my father became a Lieutenant Colonel. She, of course, learned British English. For some reason it drove my dad crazy. He kept trying to get her to say it the American way. __________________

In 2.07, just as they were leaving the garage in about 9 minutes and 50 seconds in, Walter says "Let's go!" and it has a more British English nuance than American English. That's the only one, really, I've been able to catch.

That could be it, I always thought what I'm thinking of was outside but I think it was early s2 so that could be it.
