In order to maintain their license, doctors are required to get some sort of continuing education on a regular basis to keep current. A LOT of those classes are held in Las Vegas. Of course there are alternatives, but I wonder if Toby is tempted by those - and if his promise to Happy might influence his choice.

I had no idea anything like that would be held in Las Vegas - I thought Vegas was all about casinos? I would have thought Toby should try to avoid going anywhere near there, although whether he can avoid temptation is another matter. I'm sure Happy would have a pretty strong opinion on the subject!

There's definitely a good Quintis story to be had there, though - maybe I'll add it to my list of 'things to write when I have loads of free time?'

My father was a doctor and he took his classes in Vegas almost every year. He didn't have a gambling problem - he just really enjoyed it so he mixed business with pleasure, since he was able to write off most of the trip.

They do those classes in resort areas to encourage the doctors to take them, and it's a good way to attract well-to-do doctors to come and spend their money in the resorts. Even for not-so-well-to-do doctors, they usually can get major discounts on the airfare and hotel, so it's a chance for them to have a nice combination business trip and vacation.

Shattered Memories was on TV over here today! Unfortunately I didn't discover this until it was too late and I missed it ...but it's being repeated next week.

Awesome! It's actually a pretty good movie, and Eddie is very good in it. It's great seeing hi in such a straight dramatic role.

Well, I found two uninterrupted hours this afternoon and watched Shattered Memories.

As you said, Heidi, Eddie isn't in a lot of scenes, but he's great when he's on screen. I thought it was good, even though it's not the kind of film I normally watch. I didn't guess the final twist, although I had a feeling Eddie's character would have more to do as the story progressed and I thought it was a clever ending.

It got a little confusing at times with all the flashback scenes, but then I wasn't always giving it 100% of my attention so that was probably my fault.

Glad you had a chance to watch. It was hard to discuss Eddie's role without giving things away, but I really loved how they fit him in to the plot.
