And technically we don't even know for sure if it worked, since she said it'll take a few days to really be able to tell if it's going to make her quality of life better. Even then, she just said "for these last few months" so really the procedure was just to make her more comfortable.

Yeah, I was really hoping they wouldn't go there, but after this weeks episode I have a bad feeling that they are. I want to like the Melvester scenes because they're so sweet but this sort of ruins it for me.

I'm trying hard to wrap my head around this, so that if it happens, I won't be so devastated. One of the bad parts of being an optimist and living in denial is that when the bad things do happen, you're just not prepared. But I just can't keep myself from hoping that somehow they'll find a way out of this.

I don't really have a lot of faith anymore, unfortunately. Not after HIMYM and The Mentalist.

It's genetic with me. I was raised by someone who always held out hope no matter what and when something bad did happen, her motto was "It could have been worse." I think I took that attitude in with mother's milk.

At least with Megan, unlike The Mentalist, it's not going to be a big surprise. This has been a possibility since the character was first introduced. We have time to prepare for the worst while we hope for the best.

Yeah, this isn't being done for shock value. Like The Mentalist, the character was created to ultimately die, but unlike The Mentalist, this was something the viewers knew all along.

Last year, Megan said she was sad she'd never dance again, and Sly made it happen, and in this episode, she said she was sad she'd never see the stars again, and he made that happen too. GOD.

And then I look at the title of this thread - we will get through this - together.

I amazes me how much this pair - and especially the character of Megan - have affected me in just a year.
