They are all so unique, even within the realm of "socially awkward genius," and they're all distinctly their own characterization, and that's really nice to see.

Looking through the threads here and thinking about how all the characters interact, I realize that one of the things I love about this show is that, although they are all geniuses, they each have different social issues and different intellectual skills, but they all respect each other.

Happy and Sylvester couldn't be more different.

• Hers is a highly applied science while his is highly theoretical
• She has anger issues while he is very timid and almost never shows anger
• He is afraid of everything and she is fearless

Despite all these differences, they not only get along, they really respect and support each other.

Walter and Toby - Toby has devoted his life to studying human emotion and Walter thinks emotion is a waste of time. Yet they are best friends.

Sylvester and Walter - Sylvester is one big emotional overload while Walter is an "emotional dumpster fire". Yet Sylvester is one of the few people that Walter acknowledges is better than he is at something.

They all tease each other and insult each other, but in the end, they respect each other's strengths and skills and they support and care for each other. And when they admit a new person into the family, that person, too, is accepted for the valuable skills they bring.

As much as I love TBBT, if any of them had the elitism that Sheldon projects - if any of them weren't able to realize that all of their unique strengths are important - this team simply wouldn't work.
