I hope no-one here is in the path of Hurricane Michael. You seem to be having one big storm after another this year. :(

FoxPhile 10-10-2018 04:31 PM

My house is going to get some drenching rain and high winds (again). But I'm not there and the house got through Florence just fine, so I'm sure it will get through Michael. :fingers_crossed:

WeBuiltThePyramids 10-10-2018 04:45 PM

Fingers crossed! I'm sure it'll be fine.

Tomorrow is my first day in weeks where I'm not doing anything. Friend was like "what are your plans tomorrow?" and when I said "nothing" she was like "do you wanna-"

No. I have plans. They are to do nothing. I am going nowhere.

FoxPhile 10-10-2018 04:56 PM

A day doing nothing is a great plan. I wish you brilliant success!

WeBuiltThePyramids 10-10-2018 05:04 PM

I have positive feelings about it.

Sorry for going AWOL again. Life's been busy between work, class, surgery prep, etc.

Since there's only a few shows I'm interested in that's on current TV, I started watching a show on Netflix called "Heartland" and have been addicted since the first episode. :) It's a Canadian show based on a family that lives on a ranch, and they nurse horses for a living. It's a fantastic show. :)

I LOVE Heartland!

I read the books years and years before the show came out and I found pretty much all the characters insufferable eventually so I never started the show. Though I think I quit the series with 3 books left...so now I'm thinking I should just go read the last ones to know how it ends.

The show is a bit soap-opera like and some of the characters - especially the younger ones - tend to be somewhat one-dimensional. But I loved the scenery and the horses, so I was willing to overlook the failings of the human element.

Well I am all kinds of tired. Woke up at 6am Friday morning, it is ~3:45pm Saturday and how much has Nicole slept? An hour and a half. Providing I can get to sleep by four, I'll have six hours before work tonight, which would add up to seven and a half hours between 6am Friday and 4pm Sunday.

I do feel like Amy and Lou are pretty high-maintenance, but I really love the connection Amy has with the horses, and I'm a sucker for Amy and Ty's romance. :P Jack is a total cinnamon roll too. :)

This Heartland conversation just amuses me so much because it's been a solid 10-12 years since I've given that series more than a passing thought and now people I didn't even know back then are discussing it.

I like the Amy/Ty romance, but it sometimes seems sort of too good to be true.

My favorite character on the show is the vet, Scott Cardinal. I really wanted he and Lou to work out.
