There's a new company in town that comes to your door, picks up your laundry and brings it back the next day washed, dried and folded or hung. I'm sorely tempted to try it. It might bankrupt me to send out Mount Washmore, but it might be worth it.

I am going to SO miss all the things you can get delivered in the DC area. Groceries, a lot of Amazon stuff is same day, food of all kinds from hundreds of restaurants, dry cleaning - now laundry. Here you can literally hole up in your home and never leave. Where I'm going I think they have one pizza delivery place or maybe two. Anything else and you have to get in your car and go. I am SO not used to that.

The start of my week was so amazing, and I basically had a crash/meltdown on Thursday. It's so bad this time that my boss told me not to come in this weekend (so I can rest and try to get my head around stuff). And I'm grateful to her - I was basically in a fog all Friday and I know I didn't perform as an employee up to the standards I have for myself - but at the same time, I hate so much that my mental health is so bad it sometimes prevents me from doing my job.

I hope the rest did some good. It's hard not to feel bad when you're not performing up to your own standards - even when it's something beyond your control. But it is important to take care of yourself. You're blessed that you have a boss who seems to understand that.

I read somewhere that more and more companies are encouraging their employees to take "Mental Health" days because they come back in a frame of mind that allows them to work so much better and actually increases overall productivity. I know the term "Mental Health" in that context is not the same thing at all - but I think the benefits may be very similar.

I used to roll my eyes when my friends took mental health days in high school. I just didn't understand and now when I think about my reactions to that I feel like a jerk because it took me experiencing it to stop judging.

I'm sorry you've been feeling unwell, Nicole, but I'm glad you have a compassionate boss. It's understandable considering the euphoric start to your week, often there is only one to way to go after that. I hope you've been able to rest and refocus over the weekend.

I've started packing up some of my stuff - mostly books - for the move. Yes, it's not for several months, but it may take me that long to find the backs of my closets!

I was hoping my high from the start of the week would carry me farther, but stuff happened on Thursday that sent me into a spiral. At least with being off this weekend, I was able to sleep a lot - and when I'm sleeping I'm not thinking about it.

I thought I was doing okay, and tonight I just started nose diving again and I don't know why. Maybe my anxiety is messing me up because I have to work again tomorrow. I dunno. I just haven't ever felt this low on medication.
