At least if the show skips forward and everything still sucks, you can hope that you will get to see things resolved. Not that it usually happens that way. It either remains in suck mode permanently or they skip forward again and all is well. But you can hope.

When it's a big gap it drives me crazy that they haven't fixed it. A couple weeks/months I don't always mind.

They jumped four weeks after Megan's death. At the time I was disappointed we didn't get to see the characters cope with the immediate aftermath, but with hindsight I think it was a good decision.

I agree. I can't imagine Walter or Sly functioning well on a case during the first few days or weeks - and the show was primarily about the cases they worked on. I wouldn't want to see an episode where they blew a case because they were too emotionally distraught. On the flip side of that, I wouldn't want to see them be completely normal right after Megan's death. I did like the way they showed Walter trying to suppress his feelings and finally having to let them out.

That was one thing I really did like about Scorpion that I know some felt was unrealistic, that they always succeeded at least on some level. I think eventually they were going to have to fail, but just like Edgar Allen Poe figured out that people love reading scary things when they know they're safe, I loved getting to watch Scorpion knowing no matter how tense things got, 1. no main characters were ever killed off unexpectedly and 2. they always managed to get done the crazy thing they were being asked to do

Definitely. We all have enough unexpected drama in our lives. It's nice to have a show with a certain guarantee of a good outcome.

Yep, and as much as the last episode of Scorpion bummed me out, I was like hey, they're all alive, (Florence not being a main character and the predictions that she was a Collins plant had me going into the finale fearing she'd be killed off) so even if it's cancelled we can headcanon whatever we want.

If there is anything that can redeem that finale it's the fact that it left things open for a reconciliation.

I can't imagine a scenario where the team doesn't eventually reunite. They need each other too much. And they don't have a lot of options for the combination of emotional and intellectual support that Scorpion provides for their unique personalities.
