They say good partners provide something you're missing. Cabe can definitely use to loosen up a little and not take himself so seriously. Allie seems to be able to do that for him.

That's a good question.

One thing may be that he helps her see the choices she makes in a different light. She was working for a guy who was unethical - and she knew it - but she kept working for him. Of course, a LOT of people would do the same thing, because leaving a job is a very hard thing to do. Being with Cabe may have helped her re-think that situation, or at least look at it more critically.

He's also someone she can share the things she loves with - vintage music and movies and such. Some of her faves pre-date even Cabe, but he probably has a greater appreciation for some of those things than people closer to her age are likely to.

Yeah that's true, a good point about being involved in a job with questionable ethics. Especially since she seemed like she was backed into a corner (read: making excuses) and acting like she'd never work again if she went against Patel (who had like zero power in that respect). But she's stronger now.

Not only does Cabe act as a sort of second conscious for her, but it's also a bit easier to stand on your principles when you have someone backing you up.

I do wonder what Allie is doing these days. I know Patel was removed from office, but I don't know if he is facing any criminal charges. I'm also sure that Alderman wasn't his only job - and Allie probably worked for him in some capacity in whatever his main line of work was. I hope that she has quit working for him. Is she still jobless? Besides visiting her sister, what was she doing while Cabe was missing?

I wonder if she was visiting her sister for a pre-planned reason (she wasn't at the wedding after all) or if she was there because she was upset about Cabe being presumed dead and wanted support. Or maybe she was already there and prolonged her visit.

I sort of wondered why she wasn't at the wedding, too. But if she was already visiting her sister during the wedding, then she was there for at least a month - which seems like a very long time. Of course, it's possible the visit wasn't meant to be that long, but with Cabe missing, she may have stayed for the support.

We really haven't seen quite enough of Allie yet to write much with her. Hopefully that will change.

I'm going to update HtS tonight and I just have a tiny setup for a Cabe/Allie date in it and even that little bit I'm like...am I writing her well? Is this the Allie that would be in an established relationship with Cabe? I'm not even in her POV but IS THIS RIGHT?
