Three months after PLL ended its seven-season run, the cable network has given a pilot order to offshoot Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists, toplined by PLL co-stars Sasha Pieterse and Janel Parrish reprising their roles. The project hails from the same auspices as the original series, writer/executive producer I. Marlene King, Alloy Entertainment and Warner Horizon Scripted Television, and it is based on the popular book series The Perfectionists, written by PLL author Sara Shepard. Freeform (then ABC Family), King and Warner Horizon teamed to adapt Shepard’s Perfectionists novels in 2014, with the project eventually evolving into a PLL spinoff. “Pretty Little Liars was a cultural phenomenon so it’s no wonder fans wanted more.” said Karey Burke, EVP, programming and development, Freeform. “We can’t wait to continue Marlene King’s rich and revolutionary storytelling with a new crop of leading ladies from Beacon Heights who will hold just as many secrets and lies as Rosewood did.” Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists is set in the town of Beacon Heights where everything seems perfect, from their top-tier college to their overachieving residents. But nothing in Beacon Heights is as it appears to be. The stress of needing to be perfect leads to the town’s first murder. Behind every Perfectionist is a secret, a lie and a needed alibi. In Pretty Little Liars, Pieterse played Alison DiLaurentis, the former queen bee whose mysterious disappearance rocked the small town of Rosewood. Parrish played Mona Vanderwaal, Hanna Marin’s best friend who was unmasked as the mysterious tormentor “A” at the end of the show’s second season, and ultimately beat uber-villain, A.D., at her own game. “I’m beyond excited to continue my collaboration with Sara Shepard, Alloy, Freeform and Warner Horizon,” says Marlene King. “I can’t wait to introduce our fans – and Sasha and Janel – to a new world of thrills and chills in Beacon Heights.” Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists is produced by Alloy Entertainment and Long Lake Media in association with Warner Horizon Scripted Television. I. Marlene King wrote the pilot and serves as executive producer with Leslie Morgenstein and Gina Girolamo. Pretty Little Liars ranked as cable TV’s No. 1 drama across target 18-34 and 12-34 measures during its final season, winning its time period in each of its 160 originals in the key demographics. PLL also remains the No. 1 most social TV series for 2016/17 season to date with 266 million engagements (despite wrapping at the end of June), and still accounts for the Top 6 most tweeted scripted cable TV telecasts in the platform’s history. Freeform (then ABC Family) first spun off PLL with the 2013 series Ravenswood, which ran for one season. The network’s slate of scripted original series include popular comedy “Young & Hungry”; new comedies grown-ish, spinoff from ABC’s black-ish, and Alone Together, which are slated to premiere in 2018; along with new drama The Bold Type; supernatural thriller Beyond; Famous In Love starring Bella Thorne; The Fosters; Shadowhunters; and the upcoming Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger, coming in 2018. Parrish is currently starring in a production of Grease in Toronto.

Freeform has announced that they’ve ordered a pilot for Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists, a spin-off series of Pretty Little Liars, which ended its seven-season run in June. Two stars from the flagship series, Sasha Pieterse and Janel Parrish, are set to reprise their roles as Alison DiLaurentis and Mona Vanderwaal in the spin-off, which, much like the original series, is based on a book series, The Perfectionists, by Sara Shepard and is being adapted by PLL showrunner I. Marlene King. The new series will introduce viewers to Beacon Heights, a town where everything only “seems perfect,” according to a press release. The release continues, “But nothing in Beacon Heights is as it appears to be. The stress of needing to be perfect leads to the town’s first murder. Behind every Perfectionist is a secret, a lie and a needed alibi.” King had previously spoken openly about the idea of revisiting some of these characters. During the 2017 Television Critics Association press tour, she said: “There are so many ways to revisit characters and worlds. It wasn’t easy to say goodbye to this group of people but I kept saying, ‘We’ll find a way to bring these characters and this world back at some point in time.'” Now it seems she’s found a way. The big question, however, remains how Ali and Mona’s endings on PLL will tie into the spin-off. (Reminder: Ali and Emily have a family, and Mona has a new life in France — one which involves kidnapping.) This marks the show’s second attempt at a spin-off. In 2013, Ravenswood premiered, only to be canceled after one season.

I mean, sem a Shay pq não anunciaram o nome dela, mas tem algo, ela ainda tá filmando a série lá (You) e já disse que acho que a personagem dela morre... não daria pra anunciar agora pq já seria spoiler a Shay já ser anunciada numa outra série sem a outra sequer ter ido ao ar... fora que a Shay teve diversos encontros com a Marlene no estúdio da Warner, o que achei suspeito O que vc acha, wishful thinking?

Acho bem pouco provável que a Marlene separe as duas, ela provavelmente só vai inventar alguma desculpa pra Shay não ser regular, tipo colocar a Emily trabalhando em outra cidade ou coisas ditas por personagens (como a Alison falando que a Emily tá doente, por isso não pode vir e coisa do tipo). Não vejo divórcio aí at all

Eu voltei correndo a ler The Perfectionists... tenho que falar, não tenho ideia de como a Alison e a Mona se encaixariam na história E putz, to adorando o livro
E de novo temos uma policia imprestável na cidade, já to puta que as meninas foram contar coisas importantes pra policia e a policia fazendo pouco caso e já colocando elas como suspeitas

Uma das meninas, a que lembra a Emily, pq é toda esportista tb (e tem as mães lésbicas), Caitlin, já havia aparecido em PLL, eu não lembrava E parece que a Spencer aparece em TP

Eu lembro daquele post lá no ig, mas nem lembro das repercusões pq não a acompanhava tanto na época... Eu não achava ela bonita nas primeiras temporadas, mas na 4ª/5ª ela ficou bonita, hj acho ela linda, mesmo acima do peso, adoro os olhos, o nariz e o cabelo, que sempre foi lindo
