 I wish ALL medical expenses were free in Canada. (But even if they were and are, its not really free cause our taxes are ridiculously high!)Hope everyone is having a good hump day!  I was 15 minutes late to work cause a semi truck caught fire on the main freeway, so everyone and their mothers took my lesser used route today, single lane highway!  __________________

Yeah your taxes are really high.
That's what Americans don't get and why Obamacare frustrated me. Like people want the free stuff but then they balk at paying more taxes and I'm over here going "How did you think they would pay for it!?" Even lowering congress's income (not gonna happen) wouldn't fund the whole thing.  (That's one of the top responses. "Pay congress less!")__________________

I feel like I get taxed like a Canadian because they take out 10% of my income to put into a retirement fund. And it's something you can't opt out of...I'm sure I'll appreciate it come 65 though.

yeah...and on top of that my job is currently the lowest paid WIC RD in the state of Arizona.  It's a good thing I enjoy what I do!__________________

Yeah, that's my problem. My job tends to never have full time hours and the pay range varies. Right now I get paid in a good range, but the hours per week suck to try to make it close to full time which is why I work at 4 schools per week.
But the thing is, I enjoy what I do so I would rather be content at my job then making lots of money but having anxiety or misery. __________________

Yea we get both taxed and an amount that goes to unemployment insurance

The thing is, we do still get taxed for medical coverage for Medicare though. That's the coverage that everyone over 65 qualifies for.
