I finally figured out how to stop all the startup programs though, so that's helpful. It used to take FOREVER for my comp to finish starting up because it had so many programs that opened, and then of course I spent forever ending them all in the Task Manager. I need to buy a virus protection though, because I don't have one. There could be something in there gumming up my processing speed as well.  Can you just buy more RAM? Or Change out your processor?__________________

 Although I always like getting HP computers, and I think they tend to be higher priced.__________________

same here Rae...it's 2 years or so until I can get a new one... I need a new microwave too...but thinking of taking advantage of the Amazon credit card thing where you can get 50 dollars in amazon credit if you get approaved

That would be nice! I have a credit card where all the points are deposited into Amazon, but it's not the Amazon specific credit card. It's nice though...I save probably at least $100/year on stuff.

There's starting to be some wear and tear on my comp, but it's lasting longer than usual because I don't use it as often as I used to, due to my shoulder. But it's still getting gummed up and not running as quickly as it did initially.

you may want to do a Free Trial on one of the computer clean up programs like Norton Utilities...actually it's only 20 which is totally worth it...
