Rebecca (Womb/Clone) #1: "I'll come with you."
Welcome to the 1st Rebecca (Womb/Clone) Thread
Eva Green played Rebecca in the movie called Womb/Clone. She starred opposite of Matt Smith from the Doctor Who fame and Hannah Murray from the show Skins UK and Game of Thrones. In the movie, a girl meets a boy. The girl leaves and goes with her mother. Some years later, they meet again and fall in love. When he gets hit by a car and dies, she clones him and carries his clone to full term pregnancy. Through the years, she cares for the boy of her cloned lover into manhood. One night, he invites his girlfriend to stay with him. His "mother" gets jealous. Things get heated when he realizes that he is a clone of her dead lover from the visit of the man's mother. He gets angry and leaves his "mother." __________________

Spoiler:
I saw for the first time last year. I thought it was creepy. Then I watched it again. It was great. Good chemistry between Matt/Eva. __________________

I finally saw this two nights ago.
The visuals of the movie are stunning, such beautiful photography, but I don't know if I truly connected to the story or the characters. I thought it weird that Rebecca decided to go along with cloning just like that, with no explanation or at least a moment of doubt. Same goes for Tommy's father, who gives his assent to the whole thing and then never wants to see his nephew/son and just leaves and is never seen again. And why did Tommy's girlfriend decide to stay even after realizing how symbiotic and "off" the bond between mother and son was? We also get a whole subplot about the discrimination and stigma clones have to deal with, but then it goes nowhere and Tommy's life has no repercussion of that, besides living in an isolated area. The movie did little to make us understand everyone's motivations, imo. Rebecca was intriguing at times, and utterly frustrating in other moments when her silences just became too much convenient. The ending was good, and made sense - with that final line "Thank you, Rebecca" he recognizes the line they've crossed, and that there is no going back, but the only way to move forward now is to move away. __________________

I have never heard of that movie before. It sounds like an interesting plot. I love Matt Smith and it would be fun seeing him in something other than DW

I would have to watch. It's hard to tell from the description how it will come out in the film
