He almost jumped out of his skin when the phone started to buzz softly on the nightstand.
His hands were shaking when he picked up. “Yes? Hello? Did you… did you find her?”
“She’s alright…” The nurse’s next words were almost lost to him, while his heart was positively bursting with relief. He barely noticed she was still speaking.
“We found her standing on the ledge outside her window. She’s asleep now. We gave her some light tranquilizers and for now she’s under constant surveillance. How could you possibly know this was going to happen…?”
His head was reeling with dozens of possible answers - lie after lie after lie - because how could he possibly tell that woman he had seen it happen in a dream? She would think he was crazy. He was starting to believe it, too…
