I personally never experienced heatstroke here, and NYC summers are often humid. But I prefer if that way to the cold, dreary winters.

The only time heat ever bothered me was in Mexico. I almost fainted, but that was cause I was dehydrated.

My Sicilian roots helped me out, I guess? Still can't tan, though, despite my family being from the southern tip of Sicily.

I visited Sicily fairly recently it's a great place. I went to the top of Mount Etna a week before it erupted again.

I am jealous. I went to Sicily once, a long time ago. It was northern Sicily - Messina, not southern, where my mom and all 4 grandparents were born. I would love to go someday.
How was Mt Etna? Were you scared, cause I imagine it's a scary place?

I wasn't scared, it did look like an alien landscape, though. It was very cold on the day I was there it was foggy and snowing when we were right on on the top. But it only has water vapour coming out of it, apparently it doesn't explode like Vesuvius.

We were staying fairly close to Mount Etna, not too far from Catania.

It was good fun. Lots of driving on roads in mountains which were collasping! But the villa we had was very nice!

Sunscreen is your friend. Definitely use it in Spain, too, the sun is much stronger there.
