It's literally the worst system ever!!! So we have a popular vote and an Electoral College (a group of electors). Each state has a specific number of electoral votes which is the same quantity as the state's Congressmen (members of the House of Representatives and two Senators = 538 total from all states). To win the electoral votes of a state, you must win the popular vote (# of votes) in that state. However, winning the popular vote overall doesn't guarantee you the presidency if you don't win the number of electoral votes needed (270). In 7 of the last 8 elections, Democrats have won the popular vote, but have only won the presidency 4 times. That's what happened last election when Hilary beat Trump by 2 million+ votes in the popular vote, but lost in the electoral vote. Thus, small states that tend to vote Republican (like most of the Midwest and Great Plains) have way more political power than densely populated states like New York and California which are largely Democratic.

A good friend of mine lost a lot of followers on Instagram after posting about Kamala Harris, so if y'all give her a follow, it'll make me super happy! No pressure though. She's amazing, and really talented. She streams video games on Twitch, makes anime videos, and sings! She's a freelance content creator (has a Youtube channel too). I met her at a virtual con (she was a moderator/host) several months ago and we became friends. I went to visit her last month and was featured in one of her Youtube videos and also a Twitch stream! I am on her Twitch streams a lot (my voice lol).
