I hope that those who haven't read the books don't develop too much hate for his character as see him as the villain or something.

he actually had a lot of good points, in both the books and movie. he only knows that they have survived as long as they have in the glade because of all their rules and such so of course when thomas comes and changes everything so quickly, hes going to resist.
