They managed to make me fall in love with The Wacky Adventures of Ethan and Falstaff Ferdinand, and declare a conversation between Vanessa and Caliban the best moment of S2 so far. You're good, John Logan - keep surprising me.

I'm alternating between flailing over Crimson Peak and Penny Dreadful. This week has been killing me fandom-wise - as if all that weren't enough, I also got Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny smooching on stage.

I finally watched the episode last night and those flirty bastards, Ethan and Lyle Also LOVED the Vanessa and Caliban scene and the creepy Vanessa doll!

The Vanessa doll made me laugh - I was utterly creeped out during the whole scene (old looking dolls have always unsettled me, just like clowns), but I had to chuckle at the fact that the others were all grotesque and ugly, while Vanessa's doll looked like a $200 Hot Topic figurine.
Although I guess the other dolls started out looking more life-like, and then the curse progressively "broke" them just like their flesh and bones counterparts..? /randomassspeculation

The Caliban/Vanessa scene was THE BEST. But I want to kick "John" (and Victor - especially Victor) repeatedly for poor Brona getting brainwashed.

I need the Ethan/Ferdinand comedy spin-off, which Vanessa as love interest/guest star. Yes.

Bring on next week and more of Vanessa's back story.
