The first boss in Strikers kicked my ass 5 times before I beat her.

Same here, SP can really be an issue if you use it too early.

plus the other characters can fall really quickly, even if you're paying attention.

I still almost managed to do it by just hitting and running with Ryuji, but once Futaba finally restored some HP and SP, I got cocky and she one-shot me.

I had the same problem, I used too much SP in the first phase.

I also managed to run around with only Ryuji a couple of times, but she had too much life left. It would take an hour to kill her probably.

once I read that I shouldn't do that, I defeated her.

It took a while to realise that it's okay to leave the jail when you run out of SP. The day doesn't progress until you get to a certain point in this one, unlike the others.

It makes the dungeons much easier. All the mini bosses and bosses take so much SP to kill though. I better make all the curry I can before the 2nd boss.

I'm about 140 hours in. Managed to get the therapist to level 9 barely. I'm gonna have to NG+ it for the rest of the trophies lol

I followed a day to day guide for Persona 5 Royals platinum. You could do it in one playthrough but you had to play on easy, because all the palaces had to be completed in one visit.
