October Post Count
November and December are the yearly quota-free months! If we drop below 15PPD it is not a big deal, we will not be penalised for it. But if the board goes without a post at all in 48 hours the usual rules apply!
My internet has been random as usual, the only net that is semi-reliable is on my phone, so instagram is pretty much all I can do as  on my phone only works half of the time even when I have the net - links do not load and pages with number do not work when you click them... Hopefully I can get a computer back soon and get back to posting. My father in law passed away this past Thursday and since then it's been chaos. I stupidly sold my MacBook for a 300 dollar PC and just the colors and sound and speed of it made me so mad. Waiting for the refund to come back from that so i can rebuy a macbook (stupid i know). It's like torture. So if that refund comes through tomorrow, I'll be so happy!

Cheap computer is never going to be good. Especially if it is old, no matter the brand. ETA: my laptop that I bought 18 months ago, it was a cheapie at $417 and is fast, quick to boot up and can do many intense things at once without lagging out. A little research goes a long way before buying such things!
 Please do not buy such devices out of brand loyalty or assumptions. Again, my internet at home has been cutting out every few hours... __________________

i'm eyeing a 600 dollar HP that has a glossy screen and I saw videos on youtube with how vibrant it looks. Plus it has the i7 intel processor. I'm going to get that.

Does it have a touchscreen? The asus transformer and others have a touchscreen and can fold into a tablet. Some dual-boot W10 and Android at the same time - so you can use apps from both operating systems at the same time.

I do not think this one does. I just saw side by side comparisons between this one and an Acer one and this HP one has a wet screen and sharper colors. To me, that's closest to the screen on MacBooks, which are universally applauded for their screen display.

Well, all of their lcd screens are made by Samsung and LG who are the best screen makers in the world. But the macbook screens are second rate vs the oled Samsung and LG screens they keep for their own products...lol

Side by side it isn't too different here. I went to a Best Buy the other day to brush up because now the new MacBooks are out (1800 dollars FFFF that) but comparing them, they're all sexy now but you get what you pay for.

They are worth no more than $1K. The hardware is average for a new laptop. Which asking price is about $900-$1200 maximum for one with a touchscreen which the mac does not have (yes it has a gimmicky tiny touch bar that is similar to the old HP laptop from 2010 that had the same gimmicky thing.) But that is next to useless!
 A real touchscreen is actually useful, but they want to sucker you to part with more money to buy another device for that purpose - their tablet. I prefer less clutter and have both in one! That is why my next high end laptop will be a transformer laptop/tablet all in one.__________________
