| I've already started to put aside money for the next gen XBox which is rumored to be out by the end of the year. I just hope the consoles don't come out at the same time. That would definately be hard on gamers. | |||

It will be interesting to see who pushes what and when. If Sony goes first... They're going to be pusing the PSP since it is mobile (in fact, they are going first in a few months). MS is going to counter with "So what if it is mobile? It can't give you stunning graphics and gamplay like the new XBox can!" This is why I said Gamecube is pretty much dead in the water by this summer if they don't have something new and unique to promote it with. The DS will be their answer to the PSP... But that's not enough to make that big a difference because the hand-held market is even smaller than the PC market in terms of gamers and potential profits... At least, right now. This is something Sony hopes the PSP will change.

| Nintendo needs better games on the DS. The DS is nice and all but it seems like a gimmick because there are few games that are using the touch screen. | |||

| Not only is the DS lacking a wide selection of great games, but the PSP has a lot more capabilities including better graphics and the ability to watch movies. From what I understand, you get more for your money with the PSP (which is why I didn't buy a DS, despite the fact that I am in love with Mario and Yoshi). However, since the PSP isn't even OUT yet, this could all just be inaccurate hearsay. My ex-boyfriend's brother has a DS and thinks it's the best thing since sliced bread. | |||

The new nitro system gives the game something extra to play with, and the difficulty curve invites everybody from new Ridge Racer drivers to racing vets. Get a feel for its speed and beauty in our video collection. Spider-Man 2 UMD Movie Spidey is doing double-duty on PlayStation Portable -- he has a videogame coming to the system at launch, and a free copy of the second movie is included free inside the firt million PSPs sold. For watching movies on the go, it's hard to beat the size and clarity of the PSP screen. Spider-Man 2: The Movie Peter Parker lives a double life, and gets a double-dose of radioactive powers on PSP. Once you've seen the movie on UMD Video, take a spin with Activision's game based on the wall-crawlers's action-packed film. It looks like the console game, but it plays like an entirely different Spidey adventure! Slick graphics and a great racing feel deliver the complete racing experience on a handheld system. Gretzky NHL With no hockey season to hit the stadium for or catch on TV, your best bet is to make your own hockey action happen. Page 44 Studios, the same crew that made the PS2 version, put this game on the ice. Fans of the console game should grab the binocs for these videos. World Tour Soccer Gooooall! Here's all the World Cup madness you could ever want for your handheld needs. SCE Studios London developed this one, packing in 128 club teams, 86 international teams, nine international classic teams from the past for your freakin futbol pleasure. | Does anyone know when E3 is? It's weird that Microsoft would unveil XBox2 without first doing it at E3. But the show sounds like it'll be cool.

| Actually, the XBox 360 crowd is the 30something, working professional who wants to feel hip and cool. Seriously. This is one thing the XBox didn't count on when it was released: A majority of gamers in their late 20s, early 30s making up more of the market than teens. It is, however, the anomoly as most consoles are aimed at pre-teens and teens... Like the PS2 and Gamecube. I like the synergistic relationship PC games and technology have with console games because PC games fuel the console -- always have, always will -- Because that means if you are an older, hardcore PC gamer you can play "the best of the best" on a PC and also the best of what the new consoles like PS3 and XBox 360 have to offer. If you are a "true" gamer, why limit yourself to one platform or another? This is why I laugh at all the "anti-console" fervor I see from so-called hardcore gamers (who aren't in their 30s; most are just punk kids who like to rebel and jump on the PC-is-better bandwagon). If half these kids knew what I just said about the PC always fueling the console then there wouldn't be such an upraor. But it is mostly an ego thing when it comes to this because consoles are bringing games to the masses and a lot of PC gamers can't stand the fact they are no longer "special" -- Like playing a video game makes someone better than someone else?! ![]() | |||

| LOL Adults game. And it's not just for the geeky, it's for anyone. Adults have the money to spend. I admit teenagers probably have more of the fervor and dedication but I think adults (late 20's to early 40's) are where the market is. | |||
