Homer Patch for Zuma v1.4

Homer Patch is a mod for the game Zuma Deluxe. It will replace the frog character with Homer and also 'homerize' some sounds. If anybody's interested, you can get it at http://www.mediafire.com/aerDNA. I also put up some screenshots there.

I posted about the previous version of Homer Patch like a year ago and the link was removed, so I won't be surprised if it happens again. What bothers me is that the reason was "Links to other sites". I checked the forum rules and they are very specific about posting links:
Quote:
Links to other entertainment message boards that are similar to the message boards that we have here at Fan Forum are not permitted. Links to pornography are also not permitted. These actions are known as trolling. Posters engaging in this type of behavior will lose their membership rights and be removed. Direct links to illegal television episode or music download websites are not permitted.
Neither FilePlanet (the removed link) nor MediaFire are message boards, pornography or illegal tv/music download sites.

aerDnA, the thread was probably closed because no discussion followed. Could you share what this game is about? We can't have a million threads open because of a mod patch. Thanks.

If it is for Zuma Deluxe with the frog shooting coloured orbs in a puzzle game - I have that as an Arcade downloaded game on my Xbox 360. I love it.

That's a sensible policy but threads don't get closed 3 days after they're started. My post had been edited by Firestar007 with explanation "Links to other sites". As for the game description, John Crichton did that for me:

Yes, that's the game. The mod is for the pc version, of course.

I figured it'd be a useless patch for me, what is it exactly? Homer Simpson's face or something?!

Yes, it's Homer's face... with a hole in his forehead - that's where you see what the next orb will be. The original frog consists of several elements and the replacement images have to correspond; they have fixed size and position and yet they must constitute a completely different character, which was difficult for me because I'm not an artist and I had to work with a pre-drawn Homer. So it doesn't look awesome, I'll be the first to say it, but I consider it not to be such a bad job after all. Anyway, you can see for yourself, I've put up some screenshots. And if you want to see (and hear) Homer in action, you can download Zuma trials from like a dozen sites.

In case you think that Homer Patch is a "crack" kind of patch - it's not, you can still enjoy paying for the game. I don't think that's what you meant but just to make it clear.

I agree, I think Playing was the word meant in that post.

You did a good job in making that! Was it difficult and time consuming?

Well, it was, since I'm not exactly a photoshop master and I also had to learn NSIS scripting to make the installer. But I did it for fun. When you have intrinsic motivation for something, it doesn't bother you if it's hard work, in fact, you kinda enjoy it.

I understand wholeheartedly, I do the same thing with restoring old VHS tapes and audio tapes to CD/DVD quality. Very-difficult to do but challenging, time consuming but fun when the dream becomes reality.
