I have been thinking about this for many months, but I think that it may be time to close this board. Our post counts have been declining over the past few months and we have very few regular posters. This has led me to double and triple post within topics, because of the lack of discussion outside of episode threads. As you know, Fan Forum requires that we average at least 15 posts per day, with lower numbers than that leading to warnings and then a possible closure of the board. I would prefer to go out under my own terms rather than be forced to close due to low post counts. However, the board can be saved if you're willing to post.

Please let me know what you think, by posting in here. We'd be glad to hear any suggestions or advice to renew interest here. Remember that to keep the board going, I need the commitment of a few regular, dedicated posters. As much as we all love this board, please don't just post to "save" the board and then disappear again, because we'll be in the same position that we're in now if you do.

This board has meant a lot to me over the last three years. I've put a lot of time and effort into it and have amazing co-mods. I have cried many a time the last few months coming to the realisation that the board might close. The show and books of Outlander, have been a big part of my life and the board has been a big part of my life at Fan Forum. I know everyone has other commitments and lack of time, but if you are willing to post in the threads here or want to continue discussing our beloved Caitriona, Sam, Tobias, Sophie and many others, please speak up and help save us. This would be a great team effort and I would love to start making 15 posts a day again.

You know I don't want the board closed. I post almost every day, if only a little. But I understand where you've coming from, we're facing the same dilemma on the Maroon 5 board. If there aren't posters, then what is the point.

You are a very dedicated poster and I love and respect that, but we need more than 3 threads posted in a day for it to survive the time to come. If you have the time in future, would you be willing to post in other threads? Similar to when you have helped MST here in the past? I'd hate for you to lose a place where Tobias is loved so much, he's a great actor his Underworld work is great.

And i'm sorry to hear about Maroon 5.

I enjoy having the board because I like to post after each episode to discuss it. However, I know that is just one thread. I don't really post in the fan-type threads and I don't post once the season if over. I understand if it needs to close and I'm sorry I can't be more help...I don't have much time to post anywhere else.

That is perfectly okay. We already have two interested members and if we get a couple more, you still might be able to participate within Episode Discussion threads.

Sad if the board has to close and I am surprised that there aren't more posters there. It is nice to have it to discuss the episodes. I think we shall wait one more month to see if there are more posters coming but at the same time I understand if the board has to close.

I'll try and post more,since I have no one to talk to about this show IRL.

It was a long time ago, but on the Charmed thread,they did an rpg. Maybe if you guys did an Outlander one,it could work. I know the roleplaying board closed,but those posters weren't in any fandoms. It would make things more interactive and get people who aren't even role-players naturally to do it. You don't have to be a genius writer,you just have to post two lines to a paragraph from the character's POV.

This show has such a huge cast of characters and there's even room for OC's,like Jamie's print shop assistant, a servant he worked with at that family's house(forget the name).

It's just an idea,but it did keep the Charmed board more active.

Hi, I'm brand new to this forum, but was a keen poster on another forum until it too closed! (Reasons were unrelated to members, more the terms of the forum software host, I believe).

I haven't looked, so you may already have this, but games such as hangman, song names, actor/movie, all helped add post numbers in different threads...

oh wow, would be so sad to see this board close :sad: i will try and post more i promise, i do need a place to discuss the episodes and the cast , i will do everything so the board wont be closed
