I think you ladies took my question the wrong way. I assumed as you just said ask for a category that asking would be okay. I wasn't asking for you to scrap the character sections I meant that it might be less time consuming for the thread starter to place a big batch of general icons into a general place instead of them placing them under every category, especially if there's only one icon of that character in that batch. do you get what I mean now?

I'm a tad confused as to why my query caused a debate, that's why I think there was a misunderstanding about a general category.

I am sorry for that and I am sure a mod will clear this query up soon

I wasn't asking for another Category. I asked if there were any ships, [whether it is an otp or brop] anyone wanted that I wasn't aware off, added to the shippers list. The list of shipper in the OP are the only ones I'm aware of. I just thought that there could be other ships I'm not aware of. As long as they weren't spoilery.

I also know that you weren't asking me to scrap the characters section. I hope you know that your icons will always have a place in the OP. I would never take that away from anyone. When I made the OP I was thinking about how to make it easy, clean and what category's a lot of people look for in an icon thread.

Wow! Took me a good portion of the afternoon to size these suckers down. I'm excited, though. I've been meaning to size a few down for personal use and just haven't gotten around to it, so it's wonderful to have it done!

Everyone has had such pretty submissions. I don't have any issue with not having an episode-based or general-based search. It's hard enough to keep an icons OP clean and organized. Too many categories and, eventually, people stop using it to find icons. Characters and pairings work best, in my opinion. Most folks look for them like that.

I'll try to post these in sets, since some of them are rather large.

BTW, these are totally not in order of scene appearance. I'm not exactly sure what happened ... Some of them have multiple versions because I was testing out coloring for the show. Isn't it fascinating how the more vibrant of the two realities is the one that is in the past?! Blows me away. Becoming a huge RDM fan.

I haven't yet done 102-106 or 108. I'm itching to but -- alas -- real life, work and my master's thesis come first. Maybe by the time the show returns in April, I'll have made my way through the rest of the episodes from the first half of S1!

A lot of folks commented on how difficult 107 was to work with for lighting/coloring purposes, but I actually loved the challenge. The firelight gives such incredible glow to skin tones, even if a bit tricky to figure out how to balance. I don't love how each and every one of these turned out, but there are some that I'm completely smitten with.

And, again, these are completely out of sequence ...

I wonder if it has to do with the fact that history seems faded to us, not nearly as real. We see it through paintings and sepia-toned photographs. Perhaps RDM decided he wanted to flip that on its head to where modernity was the muted world and the past was more vibrant, more real? I don't know, but I LOVE it.
